I don't see any way we keep 4 tight ends with all the needs we have everywhere else. I think we will save a spot here to go longer somewhere else.

The rookie makes the roster. Jarwin will probably make the roster. Swaim and Gathers will fight for the final spot.

We could add a player at TE at roster cut downs. But regardless I don't see us keeping more than 3.

Almost anyone we cut should be PS eligible. That gives us options to stash a TE there.

I can’t see them cutting Swaim. Rico will need to show enough to convince them to keep four TE’s.

I see 4 if the rookie, Jarwin, Swaim, and Gathers are all healthy. None are a complete TE but together they form one and I think that’s how they will roll.

3. Prolly none of the Gathers unless there is an injury

Three. Gathers is out. If somebody gets hurt, Gathers still might be out.

Yeah. I think Riconis on borrowed time. They may choose to not even sign him to the practice squad.

I think Swaim will be the starter, but Jarwin will get his plays in also. Shultz will be worked in slowly as he is a rookie. Swaim and Jarwin more comfortable with the offense. And Swaim and Dak seem to have a good rapport on some crossing routes, as Dak rolls out to the right.

It will not be like when Witten was here, and refused to come off the field. They will mix it up.

Rico, well right now he seems the odd man out. But I will not buy into all the fans reports on him not looking that well, and is slow. Even though a few reporters aren't giving him rave reviews also. But I will give him the entire TC or a good part of it before I come to any conclusions. But right now, I will say keeping 4 TE's would be a luxury as we may need that extra spot to keep an extra DL, or even an extra WR, as they would contribute before a 4th TE.

The team has released, or seem to release better players than Rico, so hope some don't get too upset when he is gone. But it is also what this team does, is to keep him or others like him a year too long. See Jameil Showers experiment.

Same goes for Darius Jackson and Bo Scarborough. I will give Bo a chance, and if it comes to Bo or Rico, Bo is the guy.
Never was a Darius fan, way too over rated IMO.

I believe Rico was on the PS his 1st year, IR last year.

You're right.

Rico was cut, cleared waivers, and signed to the PS, but Jerry still paid him the rookie minimum for the year. I wonder if he'd risk signing with another team to get on an active roster this year, or if he'd take that deal again.

That's Jerry (Stephen?) being smart again. PS money doesn't count toward the cap.

Right now with what i read regarding gathers i'd say we keep 3.

We will keep at least 5 WR and Austin. So we have enough receiving threats if a TE (or 2) goes down. Also we are deep at tackle this year so we can compensate for missing blockers at TE.

I see us trying to get gathers on the ps again.

Only way I could see 4 is if Jarwin shows he can be effective at the Cowboy/halfback/fullback position and J.O. underwhelms in preseason.

I'm going Jarwin, Swaim, Schultz for the top 3. Obviously not set in stone.
