Well another thing is that the whole get turnovers and you should win, doesnt take into account all the variables.
It depends on where you get the TO , and when. same thing for the team that turns it over.
For example one of the four, was at our own 5, which stopped TB from scoring but doesnt give us a short field.

Basically the only reason that game was close at all was due to TB turning it over.
if they have no turnovers, the game would not have been close at all.

Not to be taken to one extreme or the other. Just only to see through many eyes the outcome of game #1.

Question: how many times do you win the turn over ratio by 4 to 1? Win time of possession buy almost 10 mins. First downs and you name the rest and lose.

Now, Even though Dak was great, did the rest factor into the final score and give us somewhat of a false hope?

Just tell me I'm wrong and I'm good with that!

Football is an interesting sport in that you can't always come to the same conclusion with many statistics. Winning time of possession and having more first downs often does point to success. But are also meaningless if your opponent is scoring quickly. Then all it means is that it's taking you longer to score.

Being honest with you, I have I didn't realize the TOP thing....but I did notice the turnover ratio and that bothered me a bit.

I'm going to choose to be happy that a team that has had a creating turnover problem dating back to the Campo era has possibly turned the corner on it.

We will wipe the floor with most teams by being plus three.....it just wasn't good enough to overcome that team on that night.

Anomalies happen. They happen even more when you play the world champs on the road with the GOAT at QB.

Cowboys won’t always force 4 turnovers. That being said. If they can consistently win the turnover battle….. they’ll win a lot of games.

Exactly.........honestly the turnover gave us chance to win it at the end against the Super Bowl champs led GOAT QB. Guess you can say they ( turnovers) even things out a bit, the win just didn't fall our way but as stated, we are going to win a lot of games winning the turnover ratio.

When Prescott's your QB you lose that game a lot. Losers lose.

It's like professional wrestling. The outcome's predetermined when these Cowboys are going up against a real contender. All that stuff leading up to the finish is just meant to keep you entertained until you get there.
Dak was the least of the reasons we lost
The only big mistake Dak made was taking the sack outside the pocket moving us out of FG range. You have to throw it away and not take that sack

Brady’s Hail Mary INT before the half doesn’t count as a real turnover, in my book.

Cant disagree with that, Belichick was coaching that game for us with two minutes left it would likely have been a different outcome (of course he would also have had the team prepared for that scenario to arise also-which we weren't)

Exactly, fans see the four turnovers but don't realize where they got the ball. The one you mentioned at the goal line where Dallas gets the fumble and has it at their own 10...not much happened after that only prevented another TB score. The other one was the interception at the half which might as well been a incompletion because time ran out anyway. That leaves only 2-1 ratio. Not much difference. Whereas Dallas TO did lead to a TB touchdown. its what you do with those turnovers. Dallas just did not take advantage of the turnovers, time of possession or the stats.... so loss was inevitable, especially to last years SB champions.

It feels like the Romo years all over again. We will do amazing things stat wise in the passing game ont to end the season 8 and 8. But Dak will be a household name and Jerry will be relevant. Yay team.
I look forward to you’re Prescott is God threads lol

Cut him now anything less than 600 yards 80% and 5 td's will not do against the reigning SB champ defense....your correct pappy we can not stand for those kind of performances anymore...

Tampa came into the game undefeated since last December, on an 8 game win streak, averaging 33+ ppg. 31 ppg in the playoffs against other playoff teams.

The defense held them that average, and took the ball away 4 times. They did their job.

Having gotten 4 turnovers handed to them, shouldn't the offense have been able to score more? Some of that can be put on Zeurlein, but not all of it.

Oddly, Dak seems relatively more accurate deep than short since 2019. Just doesn't place balls well behind the LOS, and sometimes on short passes too. It's a problem on a short field.

Its definitely a weird phenomena. Outside of the Dallas signal callers you mention here, you
could also lump Cousins into this group as well.

The stat guys don't have an answer for Cousins either cuz his annual end of year stats represent everything they stand for as well.

but... like you said, WINS as a starter.

How CZ agrees or disagrees on how the team accountability pie is sliced up as to each party's share in team losses is where most all the posts' core influences are based.

Well that, and Jerry and Mike posts. That about covers it, lol.

This is patently absurd. Take the one guy who threw for 400+ yards and 3 TD's, and whose only interception was on a perfectly thrown ball through Lamb's hands, and try to paint him as the reason we lost?

Go sell crazy somewhere else. We're all stocked up here.

The pass that was picked did bounce off the hands of the WR. But throwing to a WR with THREE DEFENDERS AROUND HIM is DUMB.

Really need to look at the turnover ratio being 3:1. Intercepting a Hail Mary at the end of half really isn’t a turnover because the offense doesn’t get the ball to do anything with. It’s really no different than the opposing team taking a knee and walking to the locker room.

Personally I can’t stand interceptions on a hail mary because the ball should be knocked down instead. Thankfully the tipped ball went to a Dallas player instead of a TB player on Thursday night.
