"Revamping the offensive line had become one of the organization’s top projects, and Callahan was brought in to oversee its development."

"Last season, when Callahan served as the play-caller, things finally began to click. The zone plays that shunted Murray to the edge began to meld with the more traditional gap-blocking concepts, helping Dallas disguise its intentions.

With Callahan’s right-hand man, Frank Pollack, supervising the offensive line, the Cowboys showed signs that they could attack teams on the ground. In fact, over the last eight weeks of the season, no team averaged more yards per carry than Dallas."

He deserves a ton of credit. He convinced the team to go after Frederick and I think that can't be stated enough. And when everybody was saying that we must get rid of Free, we kept him and turned his career around last season and he's played well this season. He's also turned Leary into a UDFA that was released by the team into a pretty darn good starting left guard. And Tyron has really come into his own the past two seasons. Combine that with the Martin pick and the O-Line has done a great job in pass protection and running the ball. We just needed the right play caller to use the O-Line as a strength.

The coaching of the OL and the the blocking of the entire offense (TEs, RBs, WRs) has been terrific. The media likes to just focus on the three 1st round picks on the OL, but there's much more involved with the success of the running game.

I've spent a lot of time studying the Cowboys OLines over the years and I'm convinced that this same group wouldn't be having this much success if Houck was still the OL coach.

That's the thing. Leary and Free are testament to how legit this guy is as an OL coach. I hope we can extend his contract.

His track record with the run and OL wherever he has gone, speaks for itself.

I am curious about how much is Pollack and how much is Callahan.

Winning cures all ills and provides the opportunity to spread credit all around.

It will be up to Callahan.. He can stay here, and be a part of something that has the possibility to be special...and at the same time somewhat rebuild his reputation. I personally hope that he and Pollack hang around.
