How Much Did We Improve on Defense?

Not disagreeing with this, just lil more to it. Also not sure we have a dog that can rush off the edge
Edge is certainly an unknown but I see more rush by committee than a single stud. It’s gonna be interesting to see how Parker approaches this and how fast the players can learn. We certainly have question marks

I honestly don’t think that Parker is going to put a premium on number of sacks.

The Eagles haven’t under Fangio/Parker and I expect that to continue in Dallas.

They emphasize coverage over pressure and typically have lower blitz rates.

In my opinion, Parker wants to emphasize stopping the run and forcing teams to pass into complex, sound, disguised coverages hoping to make plays on the ball and force mistakes.

Sacks are a nice-to-have, rather than a must-have for him.

Nothing disrupts an offense like stopping the run. It makes 3rd down very predictable. Great coverage leads to sacks too. The key is keeping teams out of the endzone. No stat is as important for a defense than points given up. How you accomplish that doesn’t matter

Compared to last year, how much did we improve?

If we have Christian Parker last year, we win at least two more games. Just on coaching alone.

We also got Gary, Lawrence, Ezeiruaku more experienced, Quinnen, Kenny Clark, Caleb Downs? Who even does that? We also got Overton, Barham, Jalen Thompson, Dee Winters, Overshown is coming back, we picked up Cobie Durant. And we have guys like Bell and Reddy.

Pinch me. I was ready to give up last year. This is looking like a new team.

And that's a good thing.

Maybe it's not yet complete, but that is indeed one heck of a rebuild.

Anyone sense one more trade coming before the season starts?

I do.

I give the off-season rebuild a solid A.
We really don’t know yet “how much “ until we see some action and results on the field . On paper we obviously have upgraded our talent .

I agree on paper we look a lot better, but there's a lot contingent on players' injuries

I said the same thing in another thread. However, I’m sure I wasn’t as eloquent or detailed as you. Lol.

Not on paper, on the field. Q/Clark/Gary/Thompson/Locke/Durant/Ogboner/Winters are all proven upgrades on the field.
Yes, and we’ll see how much it impacts our success.

No doubt we’ve upgraded our talent on defense . It wouldn’t have been too hard to improve from historically bad.

But we did have a couple of those( Q & Clark) from last year which didn’t make enough difference. Im not familiar with the rest and can’t get as excited until I see the results .

Nothing new or shocking...

Completely unknown at this point.
But I do not think anyone could argue that it will be better.
When you are at the dead bottom there is no way to go lower.

They did not get the one or two LBs they wanted. But they, at least in their minds, revamped the secondary room at S at the very least.

We will have to wait and see but it is hard to imagine we will not be better. And frankly we would have easily won more games last year if they had even the middle of the road defense.

We don't beat Philly and KC w/o Q/Clark. They made a huge difference, just weren't enough because we lacked talent so badly elsewhere.
