Having the worst special teams in the league. What does it mean. Starting every drive on your own side of the field. Imagine traveling 50 yards for a touchdown, compared to 80. How much fresher will Elliot actually be. By time we get to the end zone he still has life in his legs . I still believe this is one of the biggest things that can help us,if we get it right. Go cowboys

ST's can be huge. Yes going 60 yards or even 70 yards instead of over 80 on just about every drive can be huge. Of course we need the defense to make stops and none of this bend but don't break crap. Allowing teams to drive down the field to pin us deep IF they punt. Usually ends up in a TD or FG.

Seems the only time we start beyond the 20, is if the KO is a TB and we start on the 25.
It did not help with Pollard being stupid more times than not, as he rarely got it past the 20.

ST's did improve last year as the season went along, and was far better than the previous year. Fassell has them going in the right direction. And that Jones is gone, if our own P can now pin the opponent inside the 20 could help the defense to play more what they need to do.

I wonder if Fehoko can return punts. Doubt he would be a KOR guy, maybe too tall?
Not sure if there is some size type thing to it.

Special Teams is one of those things that you can get by being adequate there. You don't need to be the best in the league. But you can't be the worst in the league and then be the worst defense in the league. So you basically tell your offense to play mistake free football and go 75 yards to score touchdowns for me every play. Its unrealistic. Special teams is meant to help your offense and defense not be a detriment.

Man......I never thought it was but looking at the punt returners around the league...its hard as hell to find someone even over 6 foot and most are under 6 foot.

I think one thing though is that most guys teams put at punt returner are elusive and fast. You really don't find guys 6'4 with those attributes and when you do they are usually your X or your Z receiver. I don't think there's a size limit though personally.

I was thinking PR, because Dez returned punts, though not full time.

Yeah....but even Dez is smaller than him. Seems bigger in body tape.....in order for him to make this team he's going to have to play special teams in some form or fashion.
