How much is on the players?; how much on the coaching staff?

Have read many messages calling for firing of coaching staff & similar messages blaming the players themselves and claiming lack of leadership on this team lead to what's happen.

But where does the ultimate blame lay? As Parcells frequently stated, no coaching staff coaches players to make penalities, or drop passes, tackle poorly, etc.

Yes, we can blame the players for many of the mistakes but, at what point is the coaching staff bear much of the responsibility. I put much of the blame on the coaching staff & I think many other posters fail the safe way. Just believe no player seems to be held responsibility for their play on the field.

Let me site 2 recent events:

a. Last week against the Titans, HH pulled RG Biggs cause of his poor play & inserted Montrae Holland at RG to replace Biggs. Holland played well until he got hurt, forcing Wade to put Biggs back into the game. Most disappointing, immediately after that game Wade announced that Biggs would be the starter. I believed Holland deserved the chance to start. After all Biggs wasn't pulled because he was hurt, but because he playing badly. In that situation, does anybody here believe Jimmy Johnson would have said after the game that Biggs would be the starter. Heck no.

b. After last week's game when we were penalized for excessive TD celebration (doesn't mind whether any feel penalty wasn't warranted), seems to me Wade or someone on his coaching staff should have made it extremely clear to everyone on the offense that no excessive celebration should be tolerated & that players should act like they've been there before. Don't know if Wade or any of coaches did that or whether Austin was just so excited that RWilliams scored a TD that he just felt he had to celebrate by jumping over RWilliams. Austin was penalized 15 yards which was tacked onto the kickoff. We got lucky and our defense played so well that Minny unable to even get in ranch for a FG. But it entirely possible, Minny could have scored or even worse that Austin could have really hurt himself or even hurt RWilliams. Just plain stupid--but stupid is what we seeing a lot of out of many players.

Just seems to me that when so many different players doing stupid things and committing so many penalties that the coaching staff does not have control of this team. That players seem to feel they can do what they want or not & won't face punishment.

Heck if I'm Romo, how can I provide leadership when/if I believe my coaching staff's attitude basically allows my teammates to get away with things that no other coaching staff would tolerate. And maybe if I'm Romo, I don't even believe Jerry has any thoughts re player accountability.

think of it like this. when other teams get an injury you dont see much of a drop off in production, some iwth certain players, but not across the boards with teams.

than think when we get an injury.

If that doesnt convince you, look at Folk. If that doesnt convince you, look at the D from last year and look at the players this year and see if you can find where things are wrong.

And if that doesnt, look at Pittsburgh and the Ravens, remember how decimated the Ravens were with injuries. Look at them now.

And finally I give you Garrett, any of them, and if that dont convince you, nothing will.

Look at the teams and if they have an injury. Look at the Steelers and Ravens, than look at Garrett, both of them. I could see if we have different players and they were dumb, but we dont. We just have bad coaches.

you cant blame the players if the coaches dont instill it in their heads. i am sorry but i am seeing good coaches get more out of worse players and i am watching Ray Sherman get the best out of undrafted players while our D is loaded from draft picks and really getting their butts handed to them because they are not properly prepared.

than again i remember the coaches on this board who swore Scandrick was better than Jenkins and some who wanted Alib Taliq or something like that over Jenkins.

So the players can get the small blame for stuff, but its the coaches and big coach who are doing the most damage here.

Ill cry if Garretts head coach. I really will. This guy has proven to us he doesnt get it nor wants it and I dont see any reason that hes even trying to win the HC job here. Ray Sherman is doing a better job with less and I dont want ray promoted because we'll never be able to replace him. So i dont want to hear it about Garrett because the guy is complete failure, proving it to everyone and still some of us want him as a head coach. At least Wade had experience and is poslished medicore, but Garrett is full blown failure without the experience or drive to become mediocre.

I blame coaching, and I blame JOnes handling of the team. There in no sense of urgency on this team on any level, players, coaches, even ownership. The pervailing attitude is that things have to get better, there is no sense of "they better **** get better!" LIke the previous week, the previous 2 seasons no heads will roll, no one will lose their starting spots unless they get injured, no one will get cut. JOnes says they have to stick together, but the reality is that they need to start unloading all the dead weight on this team. When Bradshaw was making bone head plays for the Steelers he got benched, JImmy fired a guy for sleeping at a meeting. Belichek got rid of a star reciever for being a nuisance and cry baby. What's even sadder is that they have no one who can rally them, Romo hasn't shown he has that in him and the coaches don't have a clue.

50-50....same key coaches and players that went 13-3...same coaches and players that got on a roll last year, putting an end to the December jinx and winning a playoff game.

The players are not getting the job done, but they are basically the same players who have played better in the past; it's up to the coaches to get them to play better.

Garrett as HC would be a disaster. Who would his assistants be? No self-resepcting assistant coach would agree to work for/report to a HC that has fewer years of NFL coaching experience in the NFL than him. I only see sub-par or desperate coaches doing that.

Who cares it won't change anytime soon not with the same owner, GM, president, head coach and coaching staff and a good portion of these players who have a undisiplined mindset. The whole organization REALLY, I mean REALLY needs and enema 1989 style x 10.
