I became a Cowboys fan in the 70s, a kid from Ohio, after meeting Staubach and Landry in Mesquite while visiting cousins when I was 9 years old.

What do I owe Jerry? How much time does the Jimmy era buy him? How long must I worship the Star, while having zero faith in the old man and his idiot son?

I'm now over 50 years old. I have no confidence in the old fool and his son who has worked for no one but his dad. I don't owe them an ounce of loyalty. And yet, rooting for anyone else but the Cowboys seems impossible.

This sucks. :(

None. You watch because you’re interested. You owe the team nothing, and the team owes you nothing. You’re an entertainment consumer, that’s it. If you don’t like what you’re consuming, stop consuming it. Don’t keep eating it and complaining that it tastes terrible.

I was at an eagles super bowl party tonight

As a cowboy fan, and as a good bf I played good soldier to her and her family. I didn’t cheer but I didn’t talk trash. Then I drove home and people were honking and waving

Tonight has been gut wrenching. And I don’t see it get any better as long as this head coach is in town. I’m sure Garrett is a nice man, but he’s no Doug Peterson and tonight proved it

I am sick

no garret is a **** who's getting paid handsomely to do absolutely nothing. he is the type of guy everyone hates.

The league is a byproduct of the players in every way more so than team owners and coaches. Players switch teams, players fail to live up to contracts, players favor themselves over their teams, etc.

Many of us grew up as fans of the team and various players, but that was back when good players were more likely to spend their careers with one team. Now, the guy you refer to as your favorite player today may not even be on your team next year, and worse, he could be playing for a rvail team as that seems quite common these days.

In the end, players come and go, coaches come and go, and eventually team owners come and go. The one consistent thing that remains is the team itself. That's what I support. That's what I root for.

You and I are in the same boat, I'm 50 and remember rooting for Dallas in SB XII when I was nine. To answer your question I don't feel you owe Jerruh anything. The Cowboys may have won those 3 SB back in the 90s but for all we know he was a bumbling joke of a GM and those wins are all due to Jimmy.

For the present & last 23 years we have mostly been a laughing stock and I'm so used to it that I really don't even get disappointed anymore. I have no faith that he will ever get this team back to any type of glory. He accepts sustained mediocrity and as others have stated as long as there are buts in the seats and merchandise being sold I believe he will stay the course. He's waisted quite a few great careers in the process including Romo, Ware, and probably Witten.

I know for myself I can't root for another team, I just can't get into it and don't really understand people that can jump from bandwagon to bandwagon. So I'm stuck in Jerry's World like many others with only the knowledge that I might hopefully outlive him and things will change.

So to sum it up....NO you don't owe Jerry ANYTHING!! In fact I would say it's Jerry that owes all of us.

zilch, nada, zero, none, nil, zip

he owes the fans who's undying devotion has made him rich beyond compare in spite of the atrocious job he's done as GM for 23 years and counting

You don't owe Jerry anything. The reason I stay is because of the players of my youth who I loved. Great times. I just can't seem to let it go. Maybe we're the fools. :(

I could be having the night of my life with family and friends right now. I don’t feel bad for many. Still never seen a super bowl.

All that said, my colors will always be blue and silver and I wouldn’t trade them in for anything

I dont understand why Jerry keeps Garrett, everyone can see Garrett is a terrible coach

He’s emotionally tied to Garrett. He can’t bring himself to make the right choice. He ignores all the trends and facts surrounding Garrett and tricks himself into thinking Garrett will finally put it all together.

Basically, we are screwed for a few more seasons.
