Doug free is out 3-4 weeks. Has anyone seen how Parnell has performed this year in practice?

We going to have a drop off and potential weakness to exploit? Or will the OL be business as usual?

It really depends on how Parnell plays with the opportunity he has.

Parnell knows that this is his best shot to make it in this league. He has about 3-4 weeks to show the NFL what he has to offer. This was already basically a contract year for him, and now you consolidate that into a 3-4 week period for him.

If he can play better than Free, he might be able to stay in the lineup, and he knows he would have a future either he replacing Free or on another team.

I expect him to put his best effort forward.

I suspect it will be a drop off, how much of one we don't know until we see it. Could first be seen in the cardinals game, I'm not sure the giants can get after the passer enough.

Anytime a starter goes down and is replaced by his backup then there will be some drop off... How much, who knows .. If Parnell was better than Free then he would be the starter.. I think they could and should be alright .. But we will see

Don't know. I suspect he will be better in the run game and less effective in the pass game. I hope he will shine with the pass blocking. We'll see.

There was no drop off even Miles Austin took over for an injured Roy Williams.

Individual players (Miles vs Roy) is slightly different than o lineman who rely on communication with each other and practicing / playing with each other with consistency .. They know each other's habits etc... Now again not saying it will be a huge drop off but there is a reason that Parnell is not starting yet over free..
I'm sure the coaches know just a wee bit more than us

Parnell at this point needs to get over the mental hurdles, he is a developmental player, the next 3-4 games will define whether he is a starter or decent back up tackle in this league. Free and Parnell are two different players, Free is more a technician, when he fails it is because he has let his technique fail. Parnell is a true athlete but his lack of lower level football and position switching in the NFL he has been a little behind the curve. If he can just play and know his duties and not think about his duties he will be fine. You can tell when he is unsure about his assignment he will be split second slow because he is thinking about it instead of just doing it. The drop off will be in pass protection and combo blocks.

I hope he doesn't get Romo killed. I suspect we will probably see the same type of help they've given Free with their sets.

This line is awesome.....free's spot is the only question. I'm good. I would be much more worried if it was a JAG ...he is Jag + one.

It never occurred to me to think that he won't do the best he can. The question is, is his best good enough? My initial guess is that in the run game it is, and in the pass game, they're going to have to give him more help than they give Free.

I always thought that Parnell was a much better athlete than Free, and that it would come down to technique for him. I think once Parnell gets his feet under him, he has the potential to be a much better player than Free. In the past I think Parnell has from time to time outplayed Free.

Really? Remember when Roy Williams was the starter and Miles Austin was his backup.

The line was playing as a pretty cohesive unit. We're going to find out.
