How much would a real good OLine improve this team?

Personally I think they're the main problem. I am in no way, shape, or form defending Garrett or Romo or Wade. But our Oline has been CRAP all year long. It affects play calling, execution, how long the defense is on the field, field position for the special teams: EVERYTHING. Someone started another thread about Gurode and they were right: he's just dumb. Can't remember the snap count, lolly pop snaps to Romo out of the gun, etc....People just don't want to acknowledge it because it's easy to blame the QB, the OC, the HC, etc...Hey, I want to see WAde gone next year because he has FAILED. But I can't help but think what would have been with a good, solid Oline.

BTW: I just don't see how people can blame Houck for this: the guy has been here for 1 season. I see it as a talent issue. (Cory Procter being prime example )

maybe so sand, but man we couldn't block anyone last night...the number of guys running free through the line....gave a whole new meaning to "jail break"

I don't think so. How can any QB execute when he's always wondering when the center is going to snap the ball?
This O line is having a hard time identifying what the defenses are doing.
I think the O would take huge strides foreward if the O line was up to snuff.

Parcells said this team was stupid, I think in parts he was right.

Oh ,don't get me wrong, I agree, Romo had alot of pressure on him last nite. But I do want to say that I think our D got tired . too many three and outs.

But I do agree , the unsung hereo's of a team is their O line..
The QB is only as good as the line in front of him.

/agree with garrett at the OC helm it will be the same old sh## all over a gain, get rid of garrett, Wade, Stewart, Read, Hamlin, henry and start all over with a new coaching staff, I like Cowher, because he holds you accountable for your actions...Wade should of benched hamlin after he wiffed on the first TD and he should of benched Henry for being abused by a wounded player and put Jenkins or Scandrick in there, wade just isn't gutsy enough for the NFL or the Cowboys Organization, you bet the Media will be calling for his head after this debacle, his days in big D are OVEr!:bang2:

QFT Dave: they are really dumb. A real group of superstar players that just can't think on their feet: the penalties especially come to mind. (I went to bed last night with visions of another dlineman jumping offsides: no discipline at all)

Revamping this offensive line will not help us. How many more superstars do you want on this team? The playcalling needs to be fixed.

How does getting the offensive line to block not help us?

well let me just say this, Flozell=overrated and overpaid...some people say that we can't find a player as good as him, I disagree, you can find a player as good as him because Flozell costs a lot and there are many good players at tackle that also "cost a lot" Columbo is also overrated, he is a penalty machine that is good on running plays but gets beat too often on passing plays....and don't even get me started on Gurode who is suppose to know whats coming at them from opposing defenses, the guy is just too dumb who has cost us many possessions this year with his stupid snaps and not to mention early snaps, OL is overrated, Romo running for his life is proof of that..

I have to admit I watch alot of Football games thru the year and I have to say, That I can count on one hand how many times I saw a center hike the ball before the QB was ready.

And I think four out of five of them were on Gurode.

Has to tell you something.

I said the same thing to my wife last night. I have Satellite, I watch a ton of games and I never see any other center do that. It's amazing this guy can't figure out when to snap the ball.

The main problem with this OL comes in picking up stunts. The OL just seems to struggle in space and with confusing looks from opposing defenses. We had too many plays last night where the OL let a ravens defender come in untouched.

once again this should be gurode's job as the center but again he's just too stupid.

Or is it that he is not coached properly to pick up the stunt.

I thought Romo had a strange reaction when Gurode snapped the ball too early: he hurried the throw: incomplete. Then got a big chuckle out of it as Witten got in AG's STUPID grill. I dunno, just seems like Aikman and Roger and even Danny White never thought stuff like that was funny. Just part of this team's culture of choking I suppose.

start with the middle and work outward....

we need a new Center. I am telling you, if Jonathan Luigs is there in the 2nd when we pick, we better grab him up in a hurry. IMO, he is the best Center in the draft for what we need.......Power over Finesse. Yes, there are other Centers who are better in the Finesse game and will end up in a zone blocking scheme.....but Luigs is the guy who mauled the SEC while leading the way for McFadden, Jones, and Hillis.

If we don't get Luigs, hopefully we can get Eric Wood. He is a student of the game and plays with a mean streak.
