I don't understand why they dont atleast have a parachute or SOMETHING. That to me is just ridiculous, one mistake and your dead.

It's not a particularly difficult climb, there's no reason to expect a fall. Of course I think that way of dragging the tool bag up seems fairly stupid.

I know this has been posted before, and I feel like it had the same thread title! lol

I'd have to be paid a lot, but only because I know it would have to be a high paying job as most would be afraid to do it.

Heights do not bother me at all.

The question I kept asking myself was, "When are they going to reach the top of that thing?" :laugh1: I wouldn't take that job for less than $75 an hour.

Had a friend who did this for a living. For awhile. He quit after going up one of those things in 60 mile an hour winds. The tower was swinging back and forth from the power of the wind, for even extra difficulty. His boss had give him an extra 2k to even try it. When he got done, he decided to take up another line of business.

Not for me.

They could not make that climb with it first some of those climbs way to heavy a parachute is not light (i think a full one can weigh like 90lbs and is to big fo that height. I think they have chest parchaute that only way 30lbs but if you fall can you pull it in time at that height you have very little chance to pull it in time and then or a static line hooked up to pull it for you most likely makes no sense.

Most the climb they have a static hook which keeps you locked to the tower. The thing would to set up a way once they hit the free climb part to run a rope up and have it lock off then they could use prusik knot with rope or a prusik device that would make it easier then hooking and unhooking they could just slide up and then they could also pull there gear up that way. If they fall the prusik locks you in place. Climbers use those all the time.

They could do lead climb bu t that would be slow as the hook and unhook all the way up.
