Not much. BP blew it with Rivera. 10 million dollars for a 33 year old guard. Not smart at all. If he retires, that will be a huge cap hit.

Nah the cap hit would make it impossible to resign Witten and Williams. We are only about 9 million under the cap now, cutting Rivera would make it impossible to even resign our own players. With Ellis and Glover possibly gone that will free up another 5 million. Rivera was never the same after theat back injury, but how smart is is to sign a 33 year old guard.

Boy we really whiffed on Rivera. I certainly raised an eyebrow when we signed him over Mike Wahle, who by the way is going to the Pro Bowl.

I know should have given that waste of Sperm a roster Bonus instead. That way he would have gotten his money last year. Roster bonuses affect the cap right then and there which is what your thinking of. Signing bonuses are spread out throughout the contract. If a player is cut the bonus hits you in the next offseason.
