I hate these type of threads lamenting over the past. How about focusing on how good Bell is doing instead?Bell is doing a great job, but he's a safety playing LB. Could Overshown end up being a superstar? Can't help but wonder what a difference he would have made on defense this year.
No, but he was having a terrific training camp and the coaches couldn’t stop talking about him. He would’ve been a big part of our defense this season.Overshown never played a snap in a regular season game.

That also said the exact same stuff about Vaughn for the offense too.No, but he was having a terrific training camp and the coaches couldn’t stop talking about him. He would’ve been a big part of our defense this season.
Overshown will make Clark look like an amateur. Yeah, we miss and could really use him.Bell is doing a great job, but he's a safety playing LB. Could Overshown end up being a superstar? Can't help but wonder what a difference he would have made on defense this year.
He would have at least a two year window for relativity. Now the off time top potential is still there. We shall see, but already established, even injured, is projecting well.Overshown never played a snap in a regular season game.

A fact few fans recognize on here.Bell is playing lights out!
Makes LB a smidge less important in off-season
It was the “fans” who were talking up Vaughn. They started hyping him immediately after the draft. lol They got enamored with his college highlight reels. It was the “coaches” especially Dan Quinn who was talking up Overshown and they didn’t start raving about him until they saw him perform at OTA’s and training camp. Even those in the media were hyping him. He was a training camp standout and not because he was some workout warrior. There was no question he was going to be a big part of what we do on defense. That also said the exact same stuff about Vaughn for the offense too.
However , I was way more excited about Overshowns potential than Vaughans and was genuinely saddened to hear about his injury.
He was a 'rook' and Parcells ensured all at that point, knew that fact. Must have been for a reason and not an old school stupid move.It was the “fans” who were talking up Vaughn. No need to tap the brakes, Overshown was and is known as a heat seeking missile, our LB corps could definitely use a LB with that kind of description. Heal quickly DeMarvion!Overshown never played a snap in a regular season game.

Never look back....play with what you got and coach them up.Bell is doing a great job, but he's a safety playing LB. Could Overshown end up being a superstar? Can't help but wonder what a difference he would have made on defense this year.
Yup….as well as how Diggs’ unfortunate situation allows Bland to shine.I hate these type of threads lamenting over the past. How about focusing on how good Bell is doing instead?
Nooooo.... he will be the next Dick Butkus!!!!Overshown never played a snap in a regular season game.

And Diggs!!!Bell is doing a great job, but he's a safety playing LB. Could Overshown end up being a superstar? Can't help but wonder what a difference he would have made on defense this year.
We have much greater depth at OL than LB.We hope Overshown will be great, but who knows? I’m happy the OL is in tact. They are not a top OL, not even close, but if we lost one for the season, I shudder to think how ugly it might get.
We can think of him as an additional selection in the 2024 draft.Overshown could have had a great this year, but it just wasn't in the cards.
He'll get his shot next year and hopefully he can continue the promise he showed in the preseason.
If I could have one defender back, it would be Diggs. But that's just me.
