Call the present one out to the media after the most watched regular season game in 13 years.

Is this man so comfortable with himself that he can just keep running his mouth while his brain is disengaged?

Even HC's that do terrible jobs, lose games and it is apparent that they did, do not get called out in the media and feed that smoldering fire with gasoline.

One of these guys that keeps getting thrown around here like Riley or Meyer, this job look so lovely now? Meyer still hard up for a coaching gig? Maybe he should beg some more?

What was gained by that? Made some posters here happy but look at that from the team's standpoint and any potential HC, those are people he's talking about. People that some other people like on the team.

Why is it that this incompetent manager feels comfortable calling out a coach in public, and this is not the first time, but never a player?

If any GM doesn't have faith in his HC, remove him but none of them ever openly even hint at anything negative about the coach. Even when Crazy Al was mad at Kiffin for, accurately, second guessing him on picking Russell, he didn't call out his ability.

His son will call out players after they are off the roster , pretty much dissed all the DB's they let go one year.

Are you kidding Couch? Are you OK? Feeling sorry for Garrett? I don't think Dallas will have any problems attracting a Coach. The paycheck, the facilities each, are pretty darn good. As long as the prospective coach doesn't read CZ, then I think Dallas will find a coach with zero problems.

America!

Its the NFL. If someone can't handle the heat of being the headcoach of the Dallas Cowboys, then I don't want him.

This team is a fixer-upper, so any coach that comes here realizes that they not only have to clean up Garrett's mess, but they have to instill a new attitude into the nonchalant players, change the playbook, and more. It's a lot of work that I don't think many coaches are willing to challenge.

Damn, and I thought Jerry was doing everything right ….

Meyer and Lincoln have to deal with Boosters. Jerry will be a cinch.
People forget college boosters are the worst... they essentially feel like your boss because they indirectly pay your salary with their donations...

so you have at least a hundred to a couple of hundred folks that you need to kiss the ring and go to those booster dinners to talk state of the union with them....

Here its Jerruh and Stephen... if they like what they hear your good.

Not that I think Jerry should have said what he did but come on man? He has stuck by Garrett for a decade when it has been painfully obvious he was unqualified for the job. Finally calling him out publicly after supporting him longer than ANY coach who has not produced meaningful results deserves sends the exact opposite message to potential new coaches.

Meyer and Riley have never had to deal with players making more money than them or an owner/GM telling them who to play and picking their staffs for them. I don't want to spend another 10 years finding out they can't work with the Jones boys.

I work from home because I never got into an office setting but when I did I never saw a manager call out another employee in front of his co-workers. That's what they make offices for, keep that crap in-house where it belongs. Everyone else does.

But they don't have to deal with an owner/GM that undermines their authority, nor do they have to deal with prima donna athletes who make more money than they do, and they have much more job security in college while still making about the same money as they would in the pros.

This also isnt an accounting firm

this is football... and an entertainment business

Two completely different end of the spectrums

I'm not defending Jerry, but realistically the NFL isn't a standard office setting. The NFL involves media and press conferences and sound bites and marketing. Most office settings don't have all that public exposure.

okay , name other owners in this specific entertainment business that call out coaches through the media? this isn't WWC Smackdown

Thing is the media can't quote Jerry if he doesn't voluntarily say something, say it to Garrett.
