Within Dallas itself, how popular are the boys? Is every store owner, nun, random street dude a fan? Could Sean Lee walk through a crowded mall without being recognized? Are they more popular compared to the Rangers, Mavs? What about sports talk? Papers?

They are a national brand. We all recognize that. Just curious how they are treated in the city they play.

Dallas: Cowboys are the most popular sports team for sure. When they're playing well, you can't get away from the buzz surrounding the team.

Houston (where I used to live): there are Cowboys fans to be sure... But Texans fans are more apparent and vocal, especially when they are inebriated. On the whole it is OK to sport the navy and silver in town.

Philadelphia (where I currently live): exactly what you think. I like to wear Cowboys gear on the weekends and I catch **** ALL the time for wearing the star in public

Sorry if you didn't care for the other cities - this was just my experience with each of them.

This...and it's not close
lol, yea, I remember when I lived there, you could go into most businesses on Monday after a Sunday game and without even watch the game and you could tell if the Cowboys won or lost just by peoples moods......even traffic was friendlier after a win, otherwise it was 20 miles of solid road rage, lol.

Pretty sure Lee, not wearing a Cowboys uni, can walk thru a mall without getting recognized.

I sort of feel not as popular as they use to be, but that's mainly because it seems a lot of younger generations care a little less about sports than in the past.

Jerry Jones could run for mayor never campaign and win 80% of the vote. And I don't think I'm exaggerating much.

I dunno PJ, I remember back around the mid 80's seeing Charlie Waters at a restaurant and was easily recognized and after a small greeting both of our parties were seated and never saw him after that.

No way could Sean Lee walk through a crowded mall.

Mavs and Rangers are JV and forgot about during football season.

I hear you man. Was raised in Northern Virginia.

Most of the comebacks are "Oh you're an Nbtd? Never been to Dallas!" When you tell them you have shuts them up quick

For the record, I saw Brandon Carr at Target in Frisco and nobody knew who he was.

Except me, of course. He was trying to keep a low profile with his Wife and kids though.

There are more "serious" Cowboys fans in Houston than "serious" Texans fans

I have never seen more casual fans than the Texan fans, most can't name more than three players

Well I'm a big Monroe fan, and I know she could walk around New York and not get recognized around 1955 at the height of her fame. There are photos of her just standing in a subway train, with other passengers around her, and no clue who she is.

Anyone know any spots players frequent after home games? I'm coming to town in a few weeks for the Rams game.

I'm sure it's way out of my price range but a few weeks ago I caught David Irving on instagram live at some kind of bar after a preseason game....the night of the fight. It seems like he was chilling with fans and I saw Jaylon and other players in the same spot as well. Afterwards he went outside and fans were in the parking lot.

I doubt I would go but looked like a cool place.
