How things have changed.

So your not worried about the OL? No G and Arkin who has never played centre in there?

If you're paying proper attention, virtually every team is hurting on their offensive line right note. And for the record, DeCastro doesn't play center.

Somebody remind me that I owe Silverbear a beer.

My favorite part is how he couldn't even wait until a single preseason down has been played to come in and tell everyone how right he was since the very beginning.

I know, right? Now, the OP could very well be proven right in the end, but to go like that after two whole weeks of training camp? That's the problem. We're too quick to make snap judgments, and don't want to give things any time to play out. And even if our OL isn't any better than last year, it doesn't mean the season is a train wreck. A number of the games we lost last year, were primarily because we couldn't stop anybody on defense.

Things haven't changed at all. Morris Claibourne was clearly the right pick. There was no offensive lineman worth taking where we selected at.

that's why you move down and take decastro.

Step off the ledge already! You act like we had the Colts offense last year! Detroit, Arizona and all of the games we should have won, we lost because our defense was burnt out.Specifically our secondary. Now guess what? We have an above average secondary to go along a team that finished 11th in total offense last year. Can we wait until September to say off with Jerry's head? Please?

So you think it was the wrong pick?
yeah i do. i wasn't as high on claiborne as the cowboys were. i think the cowboys should have traded down and taken decastro or taken him right there and kept our 2nd round pick.

4-12?

I'm sorry but 4-12? I can't take you seriously with a pick like that.

How would we go from 8-8, with a worse line last year, to 4 games worse?

The o-line is the worst concern on this team, and has been all offseason, but I don't have any issue with the picking of Mo because it helped the team possibly ensure that the second worst area of the team, the secondary, will not be a liability this year.

We'll need improved O-Line play but I think with what they did do in the offseason, even if it wasn't the big time splashes at the O-line position that I'd have loved to have seen, will improve the O-Line play quite a bit.

Claiborne will be a stud for this team. Forget this year, but when he does get comfortable in the system we will have one of, if not the best, CB tandems in the league. When your secondary struggles like ours did, you simply do not pass up a chance to grab a player like him..

I understand your point though, the Oline is serious cause for concern, but IMHO adding Decastro to our Oline, in the long run, is less beneficial than adding Claiborne to our secondary.

Geez guys, now he's not gonna come back till after we lose our first game.:nono:

I used to be a poster on here but in April after the draft i said that Dallas had made a MASSIVE mistake by NOT drafting an OL man and was hounded off this site by Silverbear and many others for saying it would come back to haunt them that they'd spend over $100m on CB and a $1 on the line. Now 4/5 months down the line it seems everyone is saying what i said months ago. How times have changed. No one agreed with me then but i bet you all do now.

My prediction then was with a weak OL we would be 4-12. This i stick by. Who thinks different now?

Isn't there some sort of rule hear about "call out" threads?

David DeCastro? The same one who wouldn't make the Steelers active game day roster if the season started today or some other DeCastro that's actually playing well?

And the wagons circle.

Are you in the 4 - 12 camp? Of course people are going to dog him, or "circle his wagon"!

Please tell me what was said that made you quit the message board and I'll repeat it.

I think you are a tad premature on this chest thumping.

Our veteran G's are coming back now and the line should be solidified. We have a few nice young OL if you look.

I would wait for at least 1 preseason game before proclaiming something like this.

Better wait for two or three pre-season games. Too many "starters" will be watching the Oakland game in street clothes.
