Of course man. I have a very weird sense of humor that most people do not get. You seem to. It doesn't bother me.

Always cracks me up when guys with no shot pick apart a woman that beautiful as if they can easily do better.

I could probably throw the ball as well or a little worse than Eli but it doesnt stop me from laughing at his interceptions

Thank you for sharing that. I'd like to see you post a youtube video of your throwing a football.

I bet you won't.

I think Bridget Moynihan (sp?) is prettier.

But from a model perspective, I guess Gisele has that natural "rack" look that they want models to have. She doesn't outshine the clothes she wears.

Most models aren't "beautiful" in the traditional sense.

Most models aren't "beautiful" in the traditional sense.

Gisele is flat out ugly in a traditional sense. Her cheek bones are all kinds of wrong, jaw of a boxer, unattractive nose, average lips, and poorly constructed upper facial features.

What she does have is the right height, best neck line/length in the business, a superb walk, and an easily convertible image style.

She came along when the runway business was looking for something beyond the heroin addict walk that had dominated for the better part of two decades. Right woman, right place, right time, and the European markets love her Brazilian skin tone.

"Super" models become such because they have a very unique look that the people at IMG, Wilhelmina, Ford, Race, and Elite don't see everyday. They're all looking for the next big look as are their clients. That next big look has to fit certain criteria, and absolutely not fit other traditional criteria.

It helps too if the model is discovered early in life, usually by age 14. Agencies invest tons of money in developing a model and her marketability, so the big names need to have an extended shelf life. For every big name model that lasts 15-20 years such as Cindy Crawford, there are a few thousand that last 3 or 4. Models who dream about breaking into the big time when then develop at 18-20 are doing just that, dreaming. One in a billion will break the mold.

Personally, I think she's as ugly as the south end of a north bound Longhorn steer. There isn't a single feature I like on her besides her neck and chest. The neck is unique, the chest is nothing out of the ordinary.

Give me someone like Cindy, Heidi, or a personal acquaintance of mine in Holley Dorrough. Many a photographer will lament that the beauty of the top end models is never fully captured by the camera. You see it on the screen or on paper, but when you get to see the model in person it's an almost transcendental experience. We've all seen beautiful people, but the amazingly beautiful truly take your breath away.

Its like meeting some of the football players or NBA players in person. You know they're big and tall but when you meet them in person do you first really recognize that they're on a whole different level of big and tall.

Same with models. The truly beautiful will leave you speechless.

Gisele ain't one of them.

So what you're saying is, she not all that, but the folks in the industry love her?

When I are evaluating elites and celebrities, i compare them to other elites in celebrities. She would rank up there in terms of aesthetic beauty with the two most beautiful women I have ever dated.

Compare her to her contemporaries and its a different story.

Its the same thing when I say Alan Ball is not a good football players. Alan Ball would absolutely destroy me and all of my friends out on the football field. Compared to his contemporaries, he is not so good.

Yeah, I am pretty sure she is going to earn close to a billion dollars because she doesn't compare to her contemporaries.

I am not saying she is the most beautiful woman ever. I am laughing at the idea that some of the guys here would pass up the chance if they had it.

I'm calling bull on that one.

Perfectly paraphrased.

She's still an attractive woman, but Fuzzy aptly qualified it in much fewer words.

I submit for your consideration, Twiggy.

Absolutely nothing special about that woman at all, but she gained the spotlight and became the most sought after model of her time. The world embraced a pixie-esque twig as the greatest thing since the bottled beer and it went from there.

How'd she do it? A lot of marketing and a lot of what makes Kim Kardashiavenerealdiseases a celebrity for doing nothing.

This is interesting, since we have the eye of an "average joe" vs. the eye of a photographer...

I think it highlights the beauty of the human race perfectly - everyone has different preferences.

Even the industry has different preferences depending on which division you're working in within an agency or as a subset of the modeling world.

There's a distinction between editorial looks and commercial looks.

Editorial are unique looks. Heck, there's a model who appeared on the cover of Vogue in one of the European versions that actually has a gap in her front teeth. Can't remember her name for the life of me. But a freaking gap in her front teeth???? On the cover of Vogue???!!!

Commercial are more the girls you see next door, but not ever next door to you.

Editorial: Angelina Jolie, Kate Moss, Gisele, Anja Rubik.

Commercial: http://www.modelmayhem.com/8932, just about anyone you'd see in Maxim and Playboy.

Another comment on Gisele that just popped in my head. There are much better models out there who haven't made it to her level of success. It's the same with the guys on American Chopper and Sons of Guns. There are better builders, better designers, and better fabricators out there, but those two particular shops now have better success because they got the luck of the draw.

Now don't get me started on SOG misrepresenting some of the stuff they do such as passing off a 37mm flare launcher as a M203. :lmao:

I prefer commercial. :)

Did you know some people are actually having procedures to ADD a gap in their teeth? It's the "new thing" since Anna Paquin is "hot."

And don't get me started on ANYTHING about the military passing stuff off as something else.

It's too bad you can't see the one in her portfolio that only members can. Mmmm hmmmm. Slap yo' gramma hot.

Something I didn't mention via the PM, she never needs to have her skin processed at all in Photoshop. It's that perfect. I've seen plenty of her RAW and unprocessed images from workshops, and everyone that shoots her always comments that her skin is too perfect. It looks processed even though it isn't.

If I come across a model that I find with a gap in her teeth, I'm gonna slap it shut in post processing.

This shot bugs the living daylights out of me for that very reason. I'm going to try and replicate it in the next few weeks with a girl I met tonight in Walmart of all places.
