How to Clinch a Playoff Berth

There is an argument for that - but look at yesterday - what happens if you lose a CD, Pollard, Diggs or another OL playing in essentially meaningless games?

Either way you look at it there’s a risk. If you sit starters and start playing sloppy football, you can lose your edge and limp into the playoffs. Watching the way the Cowboys are playing right now compared to Philly and San Francisco it’s very concerning. I don’t view games as meaningless if you’re trying to stay sharp and build cohesiveness. The Cowboys are simply not playing well enough right now to advance in the playoffs. Dak is not playing well enough right now. We need to keep playing our starters and try and build some momentum for the playoffs. I’m okay sitting players for the season finale against Washington if the game is meaningless and we’re playing good football.

We’re locked into the 5 seed unless something crazy happens. The Eagles remaining games outside of us are almost sure wins. And we’d have to go 1-3 to even risk losing the 5 seed.

Don’t sleep on Chicago, the Saints and the Giants who may be playing for a playoff spot. All three teams can give the Eagles trouble similar to Washington. Unlikely but like the Cowboys 4 more weeks and lots of things can happen.
