How to fix our red zone issues?

We've seen warning signs all season but it finally hit rock bottom Sunday. In all honesty, I don't have a clue but I'm sure some of the issues just a matter of execution. What interesting is why it seems so easy for other teams? play designs? personnel grouping? playing calling? execution?

I'm guessing our issues are little of all but why Dez and Witten were so successful? Chemistry and years couple years of working with DaK?

Whatever it is, if I'm the coaches, I'm pretty much spending this entire week of practice on red zone, red zone, and red zone again.

Dak running or extending plays outside of the pocket.

How many times did we see Romo make plays because he extended plays.

Dak is a sitting duck and there is no reason for it because he's far more athletic then Romo but he doesn't have near the pocket awareness that Romo had.

An experienced QB coach along with a new offensive coordinator has to be our top priority this offseason.

At times the Cowboys have tried to get too cute when they get inside the 10 yards line. They go away from who they are. I understand why Linehan may think he needs to do that with his offensive line banged up but Zeke is still his best offensive player by far. At the same time we have see a few plays that should have been TDs. We have the pass yesterday to a wide open FB, but I also recall a few other plays with wide open receivers that either dropped the ball or it was thrown way over their heads - I recall one to Beasley and one to Rico Gathers. There could be others.

Again, I draw comparisons between Dak and Luck, the Colts OL vs. Cowboys DL and the Cowboys OL vs. the Colts DL. Luck makes quick decisions then bang- the ball is off. If there is nothing there he tucks it and runs. I believe he ran for 3 first downs yesterday. Dak was standing in the pocket looking for who knows what to develop and when the pass rush was on top of him, he tried to spin but it didn't work. He was sacked. Dak is best when he uses his feet to make plays.

The Colts offensive line was opening huge holes for their running backs and they were giving Luck a lot of time. The Colts were able to block the Cowboys DTs one on one and still get blockers on the Cowboys LBs. It safe to say this was one of the worst days we have seen from both LVE and Jaylon Smith.

Luck was not sacked all day. He has been sacked only 16 times all season. Dak was sacked 3 times yesterday and 51 times for the season! When your QB is under siege or has trouble seeing the field and making decisions, it gets a lot harder to score TDs in the red zone. But this is where Dak needs to use his feet to move and extend plays until things open up or he can run it in as he has done before. For some reason Dak has games where he just does not run or try to run. The sacks are a combination of poor blocking up front and Dak standing like he is glued to the ground looking for a receiver to get open.

The red zone has been a number of things from drops to bad passes, penalties to bad play calls
That’s what makes it so bad is it’s not one thing

Don't think it's going to help.
You said it yourself "play designs? personnel grouping? playing calling? execution?" yes, all of the above.
Dak is only responsible for the execution, the rest is on our useless Coach(s)

Success = Replace the HC, OC, and QB coach

This is critical inside the 10......everything tightens up. A lot of trust factors .......

The issue was a fullback dropping the ball. It wasn’t a bad play call and it was executed well by 10 of 11 guys on offense.

Some playcalls have been questionable. That one can’t be put on coaches.
Yeah..the ball was a bit underthrown, but geez, extend your arms and fall backwards

We know defenses are looking keying Zeke almost every play inside the 10.

That is correct and Linehan doesn't spread the offense instead he brings in tight ends and cramps the line. This has the whole defense packing the line. Why Linehan doesn't spread the field be bringing in WR's and having less defense packing the line. I see this every time we're inside the 10-yard line.
