Just curious, does anyone know how to get the total number of sacks and pressures each one of our lineman gave up? Remember seeing it few months ago.

best article i've seen on this is here:

shows the Boys were remarkably average.
Livings was actually a slightly better pass protector than Logan Mankins....

Wow. Can't stand that all the dc.com guys all say Livings was the weak link on the offensive line. These facts cement what I saw on film. Livings was actually pretty good. Bernardeau was bad all year. Free was bad. And Tyron really struggled in beginning of year

This was a really good article. Thanks for sharing it.

And I think the point about the consistency is a really good one, actually. It makes a lot of sense when you consider it in the context of how the team played.

It'd be interesting to see that data spread out over 17 weeks to see how much of the inconsistency was related to the new C and front loaded early in the season. I'd bet much of it was, which was why we saw things normalize on offense a bit as the year went on.

Add in 15 penalties on Free(worst in league) and 11 on Smith(in worst 5) and wow....
Let's say this again.... OT was the major issue for the Dallas Cowboys OL in 2012.

Not entirely disagreeing, but the fact that TR couldn't ever step up into a pocket made the tackles look worse than they are. A lot of offensive tackles "ride" the pass rush to the outside rather than stonewalling them, just much easier against speed rushers. Dallas's tackles couldn't ever get away with that because for that to work the quarterback has to be able to step up into the pocket. In Romo's case, there was never a pocket to step into.

I agree that Livings wasn't a liability. 3 sacks for a LT is pretty good. Typically the tackles (especially the LT) have more sacks than the guards. I think Smith will be much improved this year. I'm also not worried about Livings at LG. It'll be interesting to see where Frederick plays. Will he be C or RG? I think it comes down to how good Costa looks at C during the preseason. I don't think the Cowboys view Costa as anything other than C (I may be wrong) and they've been prepping him for C for years. I think there's a lot of pressure on him in the beginning of the preseason. If he shows any signs of not being ready, I see them plugging Frederick in at C and giving up on the Costa experiment. But if Costa is good at C, then they plug Frederick in at RG and you have 4 out of 5 line spots filled out. Lastly, I think RT comes down to a battle between Free and Parnell. They want Parnell to be the guy but he has to beat out Free.

Part of me almost thinks Cook would be a better option at RT. He strikes me as a player who would rather ride the pressure to the outside vs stonewalling the pass rusher. For being the "Weak Link," dude only gave up 2 sacks..

Playing interior matches you up against the big bulls verse playing the speedy edge rushers, two totally different animals... So on 14 plays, Cook was either shoved back or just shoved out of the way.

Can't help but think he is better off playing RT, he's played it before. Sure would like to see his stats at the tackle position...
