Game 1 - 9 penalties for 93 yards, 3 interceptions
Game 2 - 7 penalties for 4 yards, 3 interceptions
Game 3 - 1 penalty for 5 yards, 4 interceptions
Game 4 - 11 penatlies for 153 yards

Penalties hurt us this year, but it was mostly Bledsoe making poor decisions and bad throws. The reason why we lost to Washington is because we played the least decliplined game of football the cowboys have played all year. And even then we still had to give them the W.

P.S. Yes I know that Romo threw 3 of the 4 in Game 3, but after his first interception at the start of the 2nd half, we were already playing catch up.

But the penalties did continue even when Romo was playing QB against the Skins in our last lost game. The team was so undisciplined & the penalties were being made by both the offensive & defensive players. Penalties have gone down drastically, turnovers are going our way. It's amazing and probably driving Parcells crazy as he trying to figure out what is happening.

Were the Cowboys players just in such a funk cause they had no confidence in themselves or is the simple answer that there had no confidence in Bledsoe to get the job done and were trying to create situations which might help them but actually caused penalties. Go figure.

Anyway, sure wish I could watch the game against Giant but I live here in Tampa area and will be stuck with Bucs vs Steelers. I'm seriously thinking of going to nearby sports bar later Sunday afternoon which certainly should have at least 1 of them televisions set on the Cowboy game.

I mean... if you're not gonna get the game at home, wouldn't that be the immediate option without requiring much thinking or contemplation?

penalties and turnovers definitely deserve some blame, but we didnt play good defense in any of those losses either..

Yeah. If you want to diagnose our losses - take penalties, Bledsoe, and the inability to defend the deep pass by our safeties - mix them together in varying amounts, and you've got our losses.

I understand that and I alos hear alot the game was lost because of the block. Its a shame Parcells seems to be getting a free pass on his extremely ignorant decision for going for 2 points in the first half which had as mcuh to do with losing that game as anything

Hard work brings success and success breeds confidence, Thats where we are right know IMO, the next step is that confidence breeding even more success.

If we can get there, we can go a long way this year!

that is to obvious,, I am going with the Blue shirts theory. We have lost all 3 times we have worn them this year. We are 6-1 wearing white, 0-3 wearing blue , 1-0 with throwbacks.

Additional notes to game 2(Philly):
7 penalties for 49 yds, McNabb 0 Ints; Drew avg net yds/pass attempt 4.58...McNabb was 10.0...YIKES!...BIG plays!

I always feel that defense is a function of the offense. If the offense is executing, then the defense has motivation to play. I feel that defense is largely attitude and effort. A lot of our defensive mishaps were due to them knowing our offense under Bledsoe wasn't going to do much.

I also feel that the blocking of the OL is also a function of good QB play. Offensive lineman are much more likely to give effort and have fun playing if they trust the guy they are protecting. With Bledsoe, you could just tell they were not having fun and not as inclined to play hard.

And stir in a couple well timed drops by TO to boot.
