Third RB option. And a fan favorite who will get his name chanted when the running game isn't perfect.

Is he going to be the 3rd down back? Or will we have a rotating system type like the giants ? I think T Choice is really good and it would be wasted to see him on the sideline.

I think it will be more limited than Barber and Felix Jones. Not a knock on Choice but you’re not going to give equal carries to each RB if you tried that it would be difficult for any of them to get into any kind of groove within the game.

Even in the Giants system Bradshaw was getting an avg. of 4 carries a game while the other 2 RB were getting 13 to 14 carries a game

Yeah, on the post game the other night someone called in asking about TC and the guy said he'd probably get 10-15 carries all year (barring injury) and i really couldnt disagree with him.

I like Choice, but do you really want him taking carries away from Felix or even MBIII in a non blowout situation?

Barber or Felix Jones will be the third down back depending on the situation.

I honestly hope our staff isn't sitting around devising creative ways of having to get him carries.

There is only one football. We already have 3-4 receivers, plus two tight ends to scheme for.

Peete has done this before in Oakland, but my hopes are that we allow the ebb and flow of the game to determine his carry count. Otherwise you are planning for the inferior back to take carries away from those who should get it more.

Not I, but some people do.

The perfect scenario is like what we saw in the Cleveland game out of Choice. He carried five times. That's a high number and was due to injury and the fact the game was well in hand. If games are lopsided either way, 6-10 carries at the most. This craziness of saying we absolutely have to get him 5-10 carries is just that, crazy. He is the third best back, regardless of his heroics late in the year.

Now if Barber or Jones struggle or show they can't handle certain situations, by all means experiment.

I just find the idea of creating a three back system a bit of a headache. We aren't going to run as much as the Giants, nor is Choice of the kind of skillset say Bradshaw was for them. He's not your classic 3rd down back. He's a grinder. If you notice, there isn't a "rotation" involving Bradshaw. They run a two back rotation, with Bradshaw taking more of the 3rd down role. That is not the best avenue for us.

I agree. If I have a back with a hot hand has things going I want to ride him a bit longer so yes allow the flow of the game and how the backs are performing dictate who is getting the carries in a particular game. I would say that for Choice as well if he came into a situation and started hitting some big runs I may leave him in their a bit longer but for the most part there is 1 ball to go around and the starting 2 backs will be Barber and Jones.

I'm tired of this one football excuse. The fact of the matter is we have 3 good RB's. To preserve barber and felx in increase in Choice reps would be nice.

Mb3 15 carries
Felix 7-10
T choice 5-7

But that isn't even feasible because mb3 is making starter money so that puts extra pressure for mb3 carries to go up even though he isn't a full time RB.

This "touches" is pointless. It will be a fluid situation.

Choice cant block like my dad though, that could hold him back

I get the feeling Choice wont be used enough. Which i think is a shame. Victim of too many backs, maybe. But after watching him last year against the steelers and ravens i fell in love with him. Kinda like everybody fell in love with Barber when he would come into games a couple of years ago and just punish people. Now it seems like he tries to kick some of his runs outside, he's just not that kind of back. Dont get me wrong, i love all 3 backs, but if i were the coach of this team, i would start out with Choice and Jones, while sprinkling in Barber. Then in the 2nd half, have a fresh Barber(back to punishing people again), while sprinkling in Choice. Obviously having Jones in the majority of the 2nd half too. But thats just me.

I agree that his carries will be limited. That being said, and I don't know if this has been discussed here yet, but I think Choice would be a great kick returner. Low center of gravity, tough a nails, decent speed, etc... I know Felix will get his chances as well, and deservedly so, but I would like to see Choice get a crack at it. It would be anoher way to get him on the field and decrease the chances of injury to some other vital players - Austin, Felix, etc...

1st two quarters: Barber starting, Jones provide relief and change of pace.

3rd quarter: Choice start/Jones continues his role

4th quarter: Pound Barber with Jones provide change of pace

Total touches: Barber 13-15, Jones 10-12, Choice 6-7

IDK Felix had a very high kick return average in college. So to not use him in kick returns and put someone back there like Choice would be silly.
