How will the 2009 Cowboys finish out the last 5

I'm always a bit of a pessimist but I see it as 3-2. It could be 4-1 if we get hot and blitz pickup improves and run game consistency improves.

I think one of the key determinants offensively will be if Garrett has the confidence to put Choice and Felix in the game more and save Barber for short yardage and 4th quarter.

I'm going out on a very brittle, and rather long limb here. I say the Cowboys will finish 4-1. Only loss will be a tight one in New Orleans.

5-0 is not out of the question. This will be a different team in December.

2-3

Beat Washington and Philly

Lost to NY, SD and NO

Our offense has to show me more than a bunch of yards against Oakland before I'll believe they are ok. Moreover, our team has to show me that, after 4 consecutive December flops, they are finally ready to step up at the end of the season.

You can't factor in last year's December flop. This is a different team, with different attitudes. They are not without problems, but they can play up to the competition. The win in Philly ought to prove that. Had they lost that game, I would agree, the team would have probably collapsed.

They'll beat NY, SD, Wa, and ph. NO will run them ragged.

Based on what?

We've seen this same song and dance for 4 years now, but you're just going to assume that the 5th time will be different based on....?

Superior talent.

The 2009 Cowboys are significantly better than any of their previous incarnations over the past 4 years with the exception of the 2007 team.

Some have argued the 2007 Cowboys collapsed in December, but this argument is unfounded, in my opinion; they finished 2-2 after losing against Washington in a meaningless week 17 game.

Furthermore, the 2009 Cowboys are unquestionably better than the 2008 version; the 2009 Cowboys have a better record, their special teams is vastly improved overall, Miles Austin is performing at a higher level than TO was at this point last season, and the team isn't ripping itself apart.

The Cowboys' recent December woes are certainly relevant. It's a trend worthy of discussion. However, we should also consider the ways in which this team differs from its predecessors.

based on the fact that you cant count Parcells teams actions with this teams....Wade has purged out the bad seeds and built a STRONG team atmosphere and got rid of the ME players.......Wade is midway through his 3rd season and this team is growing as the season goes on not deteriorating from the inside out as the season goes on...which is different from the past...

and NO its hasnt been the same song and dance

Wades first season was phenomenal....

2007---his first season 13-3 and the myth that they choked away that Dec is crap they went 2-2 and the Wash game was a give away cause we sat ALOT of starters ....and the playoff game wasnt a choke we never were out of that game we simply lost to a hot team ....a few bad bounces and a few key dropped passes go the other way and its on to round 3...but it didnt happen that dont mean it was same song and dance........

2008----the MEs got a hold of this team and unfortunately Jerry supported and gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were worthy of such entitlement and could become champions with that mentality...he was wrong and this team became divided and when the going got tough the mental toughness wasnt there.....so instead of pulling together , they were divided

2009----Jerry learned that the previous season could not be repeated so the purge began and Wade was allowed to bring in guys he wanted....TEAM PLAYERS with hunger for the game not just themselves...along with a new DC (himself) and a new ST coach .....combine that with the mental growth of Romo , and the imergance of Austin and Jenkins i see alot of things that inspire me to believe this season will be different...

Parcells always said "you have to win 2 phases of the game to be successful" and on a weekly basis they do that.....to start 2-2 and then to win 6 out of 7 shows growth ......theyve proven they can win by blow outs or the tough low scoring games (which has plagued this team for years)......

TB---easy victory

NY---we outplayed them in every aspect...just too many mistakes killed us

Car--tough hard fought game that they stayed tough and walked away with

Den--a tough undefeated team on the road that we were in it till the end

KC---a tougher game than expected that the old Cowboys would have let slip away but fought it out for the win

Atl--this was to be their TRUE test against a good team....slapped them around like a Tom Cable blind date

Sea--this was to be a let down game...not so much stayed the course and handled business

Philly--could this team over come the demons of 2008 season finale?.....yes in very convincing fashion

GB---went against a green bay team that everyone had written off.....everyone except GB .....this is the only time this season i was let down by this team...very upsetting offensive output

Wash--hard fought dividion game against a good defense that HATES us....team stayed focused and won the low scoring snoozer

Oak---handily beat a team we were suppose to beat...

i see nothing out of theses games that suggest "lack of killer instinct" or "same song and dance"...

you are welcome to your opinion...but my opinion is that this team has grown and changed and learned from the past....now i just hope im right

One reason to have faith in this team is that for once we have a defense and secondary we can count on.

The offense on the other hand.... well let's hope they can trounce a tough team and keep some swagger going into the post season.

At least 3-2, but more than likely 4-1. Why in the hell does everyone think we'll lose to San Diego at home? I just don't get this. We have a much better running game, at least as good a passing game, and a better defense. My guess is we lose a close one at New Orleans and win the rest.

I believe we will finish out 3-2

losses:N.O./philly

I have a gut feeling we might knock off N.O. because I dont believe N.O. will beat the top 3 teams in the NFC East.

The last game at home against Philly could be interesting.

If the Cowboys play up to their ability there is not a game on the schedule they can't win. I'm not about to conceed victory to any team Dallas faces.

Somehow I dont see this team losing to philly at home this year . unless of course we kill ourselves and stink it up.

But in the same note wont like to play them 3rd time in play offs ( Remember Gints in '07? )

I dont get everybody being scared of San Diego also. They almost lost to the Gmen on the road and everybody thinks they are going to come to Dallas and run us out of the building???

We go 3-2 with wins over San Diego, Washington, and Philly. We probably beat the Gmen to go 4-1, but they will be desperate knowing this game is their season and we historically dont win alot in the Meadowlands.

I honestly think we can go 5-0.

I think this offense is growing together. There are a lot of moving parts there. I think the offense is experiencing some of the growing pains that the defense did early on this year.

Even in that Washington game though, we had drives where we should have scored.

we're #1 in offensive yards in the nfl, yet we're like 16th in scoring offense...

we struggle on 3rd down and in the redzone.

Thats got to change.

If they go 2-3 I would be pretty content as long as the two wins are gnats and egals. Another win over the skids would be the piece de resistance.

The other two mean very little to me as the Cowboys would have the Division locked up and would likely play the aints again anyway for the NFC Championship.

We have to beat SD. I know they are not a conference/div. rival but I live in socal and chargers fans constantly talk smack about the boys!!! They are a good group but if the boys are playing their best they can take em!
