How will the Cowboys beat the Raiders

Congratulations on your "come-from-behind" win against the 9ers. It was touch and go there for a while.

Probably several ways to beat the now 0-3 Raiders, e.g., Aggressive pressure on the Raiders qb and a strong showing by your cb ...

Good hunting.

The way this crazy season has gone 3-0 Cowboys wouldn't surprise me, neither would 45-0 (Raiders) for that matter..Just hope the game is as exciting as the last 3 have been...

Double team Moss and watch out for the deep ball.

And keep constant heavy pressuer on the QB.Good pressure might make him throw some bad long passes and if the coverage holds on, we can get some interceptions.

On offense I'm confident we can move the chains and put down some points.

JJ will finally break out for a big game I feel it.

We beat the raiders, the same way we will have to beat the Eagles. Cover up our secondary by a strong pass rush, and ball control offensive. Look for a very conservative game plan as long we are leading or tied. Lots of run and short passes to control the clock. If we keep thier O off the field,, they can't score. If we get behind early, look for a high scoring game. I think our O matches up well with their D, about as good as their O matches up against our D. Moss has a habit of cleaning our clock, but we have a habit of cleaning Collins clock. So hopefully that is a wash and we win.

I agree. I think we run, run and more run next week to keep the Raidas offense off the field. We're gonna need some points though, no question.

Many are pointing at Moss, and that is true, but we have to stop Lamont Jordan as well.

Oakland will be desperate for a win in their house. This will be the toughest game of the season so far. We took SD by surprise and had the Wash game won until the last couple minutes.

This game will really show where we are at as a team. That being said, Porter and Moss through the air and Jordan on the ground is going to be tough to stop consistently.

Hopefully, they will kill themselves like they have so far.

Can we quadruple team Moss? :D

I think we'll go to the TE a lot and maybe Julius on our ever-improving screen pass. Pretty similar to the Eagles approach though he can't match Westbrook's receiving skills. Bledsoe should be able to remain upright most of the game.

Philly survived a rough game by McNabb. I'm assuming it's his injury that's affecting his ability to step into his passes. He had all day to throw and I'm expecting Bledsoe will have something similar. Oakland's front seven is pretty weak at putting pressure on anyone.

I'm also hoping they're a little beat traveling cross country while we had a 40 minute bus ride back to the hotel.

I'm scared to death about our coverages.

We should at least be jamming Moss at the line but we won't.

This is too scary already.

Sensible strategy. but somehow I don't feel you are taking it all into consideration. If "cleaning Collin's clock" means pressure in the form of blitz packages, then you Must take these things into consideration also...

- the Raider's OL are no push overs

- while Collins' strong suit is throwing the ball, he is capable of scrambling

- Screens, screens, and running the ball will kill a pass rush and keep your
defense honest.

- Moss is not their only air assault weapon

We beat the raiders, the same way we will have to beat the Eagles.

No sir -- you will not beat the Eagles like that! Remember, we are much more used to playing each other than non-NFC East teams. We know each others offensive and defensive schemes. That game will be won or lost by penalties, turnovers, clock management, and the team that makes fewer mistakes ...mental or otherwise.

Who wants it more? We'll see.

PT, you are correct that Moss is not their only weapon. Porter looks good out there as well. And of course, Moss likes to "remind" Dallas he could have been a Cowboy every time he plays us. He will have a good game and our coverage is not scaring anybody right now. There is no doubt this is going to be a difficult week for Dallas. The Raiders are going to be desperate for a win and this is a game that is very winnable for them. I'll predict up front a fairly high scoring contest.

Dallas will attempt to compensate for the 3 bombs we have given up over the last two weeks. The safeties will try to keep the play in front of them. We will say to the Raiders, let Jordan try to beat us but not Moss and Porter. Look for Moss and Porter over the middle of the field this week to test our safeties. I'm concerned because I think they match up well against us. We'll see.

Guys ... you get too invovled with the details.

There's only ONE way to beat the Raiders.

We have to outscore them. 1-0 will win the game so does 45-0 or 21-20 or 27-3. he he. Doesn't matter ... as long as we score at least one point more than they do.

Good hunting.

"come from behind"........ I see your little jab PT.... Thanks for coming in and stirring the pot as usual.  :D

The Cowboys are going to kick the Eagles sorry butts all over the field. They could barely pull out a win against the Raiders at home.

Thats right. And lets not act like they've been a well oiled machine on offense yet. Havent scored more than 20.

And even if they suddenly do get "healthy" against us due to Mossage or whatever, at least we have an ability to score points ourselves for the first time in like.. forever.

What are we up to now.. 10 TD's and 2 field goals? Previously it's pretty much been the reverse.

We will win the game by controlling the clock running. If we have around 200 yards running the ball, we win. They can't score from the bench.

So who covers Moss and who covers Porter? I think Newman will do a better job on Moss and Porter will do a better job on Porter, but we HAVE to have some safety help, and some QB pressure wouldn't hurt either. It might be worth while to line our FS 50 yards away from the play, or put him on our goaline.

This game will simply come down to who makes the big plays in crunch time, because this game will most likely be won on the last drive of the game.

Field position is important, too. We need to keep Oakland starting their drives under their 20 YL, and our "probowl" punter could come into play again..

One more thing, we cannot afford to leave points on the field. Only settle for a FG when you have to, and make them when we do. PAT's will also be very important, (wait a minute, did I just emphasize the importance of the easiest score ever?! Well that is how bad our kicking situation is). But yes, Cortez will have to be huge for us in whatever role he is playing.
