How will these RB'S find a rhythm? How will the carries be divided up?

I'm interested in seeing how the carries for these running backs will be handled. You have Rico who probably gets the start. So he gets the first drive, what determines if he's in the next drive? If he's gaining short yards, do we pull him and give carries to another back??

I'm happy Zeke is here to help with the goal line and short yard situations. I'm even happier he's going to be protecting Dak in pass pro. My only concern is him going out for routes in which it usually amounts to a wasted throw.

It'll be interesting to see when they call up Cook, and how they'll use #42. Will we actually see him as a WR, he did some good things catching the ball in college. It should be fun, yet interesting. Please give your thoughts

Disappointing if Rico is starting RB. Nothing personal but he is not a true starter in the NFL. Although I hope he proves me wrong.

Luepke 99%.

Zeke 25%

Rico -24%

Percentages add up or something.

Be curious to see if they have a true RBBC, or if they will just favor one back for a game/stretch and then all of a sudden play Vaughn out of the blue.

Well, according to the the depth chart, Zeke is the "starter". Don't know exactly how many carries they intend for him to have. I still think RB is our weak link.

why in the hell would luep get that many carries, it doesn't even make sense! If he does get that many carries, in those closed practices, this must have been when the beast came out

According to our experts here you don't need a good running back anyway.. Any warm body can gain yards behind our line. Now we need a stud running back because the ones we have are too old or simply not studs. I really wish people would make up their minds. For the record I think Zeke will be fine. His game has never been predicated on outrunning people though he showed he could do it at times. Zeke's strength is his strength and toughness. He's hard to bring down and he hurts tacklers who do. He plays the RB position with a physicality that linemen love. That's why you see Cheshire cat grin on Zack Martin's face whenever he is asked about Zeke. Zeke with blocking and at least a little imagination in the run play calling is going to be very productive. Mark my words. But he's older now.. He will need more rest and will not be able to carry it 25 times AND pass block 40 times. They're gonna divvy it up.. and that's fine. Zeke, like most of us, is about wins above all else.

I think you missed the joke.
It didn't sound like a joke when he started making his statement underneath, but yeah I caught on. This isn't a time to play around, we've got a game coming up Mr Mayo, football is back!!!!!!!!! lol

Counterpoint: Rico and Deuce are the only ones with young fresh legs.

I’ll withhold comment on Cook because he looked awful when hurt last year but was pretty good the year before. So maybe, just maybe, he has one more solid season in the tank.

Oh, I hope so. I don't believe Zeke is "washed up" like many on here do. I mean, he's lost a step or two, but far from being a "jag". I think Zeke will surprise many. And I agree, he's going to need more rest. We'll see how our coaches handle this.

Why is it a wasted throw if Zeke goes out for a passing route, or is the check down guy.
He is not a bad receiver.

Zeke is your starter most likely.

I hope you caught Zeke's appearance on the Miller Lite Cowboys Hour with Brad Sham on Monday night. If you didn't you can re-listen or watch it on the DallasCowboys.com website. You can really hear and appreciate his maturity and love for the game when he talks. I also love his attitude about sharing the load at RB. He showed it with Pollard and is obviously going to continue it with this group. He wants his guys to be successful and is willing to do whatever he can to help them.

That's fine and for that reason you mentioned at the end he's older with miles on him, he shouldn't be getting the bulk of the carries, he doesn't impact the offense enough for us to make him the focal running back
