How would you assess our team needs? For Draft Tek simulation!

I was messing around last night on the site and I didn't agree with their team needs, so I tried toying with them to run my own simulation.

They specify feature/change of pace RB, slot/possession/feature WR, and 3-4/4-3 OLB/DE/DT.

Here are the numbers you give each position:

1 - Absolute need, will reach to fill this position, can only have one of these

2 - Great need of starting caliber talent and will reach to fill need

3 - Need of starting caliber, will not reach

4 - Depth needs

5 - Definite need, but don't waste high pick on (1-4)

6 - Late round fill needs

9 - Team is absolutely set

Here is what I have for the Cowboys:

QB - 9
RBF - 9
RBC - 6
WRF - 9
WRP - 9
WRS - 5
TE - 6
OG - 4
OC - 3
OT - 6
OLB - 4
DE - 4
DT - 4
ILB - 6
CB - 5
FS - 5
SS - 6

Should I change any of these based on the criteria?

I would change QB to 6 and SS, FS, & CB to 3.

I disagree with QB. We have Kyle Orton and signed Rudy Carpenter.

I want to see what more people say about the secondary. I don't think CB should be a 3 after signing Carr. Before, definitely.

Forgot about the Carpenter signing.

My thinking on CB being a 3 is that we don't know how much Jenkins is going to cost when he hits free agency. It would be really nice to have another starting caliber CB on the roster if Jenkins leaves at the end of next year or if someone gets hurt.

Your rankings are reasonable. I personally regard DE, and 1 DB (either CB or S) as 3s, and C/G as a 3.5.

All that said, I wrote my own draft simulator back in 2001 and don't care much for the ranking system of Draftek. My ranking protocols aren't as rigid as their system.
