I think you keep all three. We need one of them to be the swing tackle. I would just rework Steele’s deal. He is serviceable. I would have Guyton and Richards fight for that left tackle spot though.

I voted against it, and I like Richards. However, Cowboys have the 12th pick at worst, so they have the opportunity to select the best or 2nd best LT in the draft. They can still get rid of Steele if they want too, and have a camp battle involving Guyton and Richards at RT.

I just can't punt on LT for Richards.

Dang good poll!!!

And I really like the thinking. Trade Steele (hope that made you LOL) or cut him.
I dont think trading him is 100% out if the trading team is able to rework his contract. You are getting much, but you may still get something. OT's are in demand and if we didnt have other options we would just keep him

Steele doesn't have the skill set to play LT

There is no way that Steele can be a swing tackle. Richards or Guyton but not steele
This. He would be a mess in pass pro at LT. Just doesn't have the the lateral movement to stay in front of elite rushers. He struggles with it in the right side

I’m a big Richards fan but it’s dangerous to go into the season with him penciled in as a starter. If they wanted to have a real competition between him and Guyton I’m all for it. Wish we got the opportunity to see him play more this season.

I doubt Steele gets cut at this point, he finished the year pretty strong.

I am all for an open competition and may the best man win. If that turns out to be Richards then so be it.

But unless Richards has an unbelievable off season I do not see how he turns out to be good enough for that they need. On the other hand, I would rather they build the defensive line and do what they can with the offensive line talent they have.

I don't dislike Steele at RT. Just dont really love him, especially what he is making. Id prefer to role the dice and go youngee and cheaper. Even if we are taking an initial dead money hit

I like it, but moving Guyton doesn't mean you fix his issues. Might be best to keep him at LT and work through his growing pains. Big offseason for him.
For me it comes down to who is your better LT. On the field Im not as discouraged as some with Guyton. It was always going to be that way. I think there are other questions that we aren't privy to the awnsers though (benching).

I don’t know why Dallas values OG’s so much? Tyler looks more influential when he’s playing LT. He plays with a physicality and gets into space better than anyone else. I think the interior of Beebe, Hoffman, Bass would be more than adequate in 2025. I’d move Tyler to LT where he has looked excellent. You would save 11 million against the cap if you release Steele. Have Guyton/Waletzko compete for RT. Richard’s is your backup LT/C.

I’m not against it but it’s another gamble and another hole you open on a roster with plenty of them. Honestly on the open market Steele really isn’t overpaid IMO, and probably gets a raise if Jerry were to cut him. I would much rather have him in the lineup than Guyton at this point.

I’m certainly open to replacing him if find a RT in the draft.

Heard he had immaturity issues prior to the draft, have heard same things during the season that he must be more mature on and off the field

Agree, Guyton hasn’t played bad but something must be happening behind the scenes because the coaching staff sure is making him accountable for his mistakes.
