How would you feel about Bijan Robinson going to the Eagles?

If the Eagles want him, (they let Sanders walk), they would move up from 30 to 25..That's their MO.
That's one of the things that lessens the impact of them drafting Robinson IMO. It isn't like RB was an issue for them. Sanders was a Pro Bowler last year. So they are just replacing a part with a possibly slightly better part.

It's possible that if we draft an RB in the second round, it could actually help us more because Elliott wasn't that good last year (especially by the time we got to the playoffs), so it could be a big upgrade for us compared to a small upgrade for Philly.

The Eagles have a draft pick at #10 -- they could easily use it to take Bijon Robinson at that point in the draft. It wouldn't surprise me if they used it to take him at that point. I'd likely be jealous to some extent, although that's likely what he's worth for a team that wants him. We'll get our pick at #26 and hopefully, it'll be one that sees us benefit well, if we play our cards right. Maybe it'd be cause for us to take an impactful DT as an answer to such a move by the Eagles. It's high time for the Cowboys to get a primo DT to help our defense plug the run, at long last.

Its my absolute worse nightmare scenario in this draft. My top player from my favorite college going to the team I hate the most would literally devastate me.
At that point I would shut off my TV and go fishing.

I could see that, though, I'm not so sure the Giants would agree to a trade from Philly considering both would probably want Bijan Robinson.

It would stink, but it would also likely force us to use a pick to draft a NT and a Lb. Colburn could be a good late round choice for a NT. I think a nice rotation would help us overcome that.

Then they follow it with O'Cyrus Torrence as their last pick in the first round.

That does not please me at all.

I wouldn't care. Enough good players to spread around, and they're likely going to get two good ones who will help them against us anyway.

They would have two of the top RBs in the NFL in their backfield if this happened. One of them combines that with the threat of an occasional pass too.

It would be difficult to defend.

I don't think Bijan slips to 30. Especially not with us at 26. Jerry likes the sizzle. I sense that Jerry wouldn't hesitate to take him at 26 if he's sitting there. He'd be able to sell the choice as being a great replacement for Zeke, and he'd love the jersey revenue that would come from it. So, I highly doubt he falls to 30.
Plus, if Micah working out with Bijan Robinson isn't telegraphic their pick, I don't know what is.

The league is sour on RBs on the first. Because of what the Cowboys did with Zeke.

So of course the Cowboys may do it again.

Not sure why, but almost every mock simulation I do, Bijan is actually there.

I've noticed that, and he'd be the natural pick if he's still on the board.

I’d rather them pick Bijan than Nolan Smith or Jalen Carter at 10. There are about 10 backs in this draft that would be really good in that offense. I’d rather Philly use high draft capital to do it than get a good back with a 4th or something.

I also wouldn’t mind if Howie moves up from 30 to get Bijan because then you’re back to overspending for a RB in the first. They can spend a first round pick plus a 3rd (or 2nd) if they want. Their running game is going to be good anyway as long as they have a RB at QB.

Howie’s first round picks:

2014 Marcus smith - BUST
2015 Nelson Agholor - BUST
2016 Carson Wentz - BUST
2017 Derrick Barnett - BUST
2018 No Pick
2019 Andre Dillard - BUST
2020 Jalen Reagor - BUST

He chose JJ Arcega Whiteside over DK Metcalf and Reagor over Justin Jefferson.

Howie has not blown it the last couple of years by just drafting from big SEC Schools and trading for AJ Brown because Lord knows, he has trouble drafting WR’s. He had to do something different… he was about to get run out of Philly.

I think it will become evident that Jordan Davis was a mistake. Giving up a first round pick plus three other picks to move up two spots for an overweight, part-time player that is just a run stopper. He has never gotten to the QB with any regularity. I guarantee you that Howie never makes that trade if Davis hadn’t run fast (for a fat guy) at the combine.

It makes no sense.

Howie also had to get Kelce to scout centers for him and tell him who to draft, lol.

No, I’m not really concerned about Howie making draft picks.

He’s good at writing checks for free agents though.

Not good at all.

They got the receivers. They got the offensive line. They got a quarterback that can get them there.

What is the one ingredient missing from a truly dominant offense?

I'm not praising them, I'm just being candid. Minus injury issues, they could be a real problem for the next several years. As small as the Cowboys "window" might be, we don't want it to coincide with that level of competition in their own division.
