How would you feel about Mathew Golden at 12

I'd hate it and I like the player fine. Golden isn't and has never been 1st round, much less 12th overall type talent. He was firmly rooted in the 2nd until he ran the 40. It was a great 40 time but shouldn't have propelled a 5"11 190 pound receiver with limited production to the top of the board. If we weren't a team that is absolutely ravenous for not only a WR, but a fast WR this conversation wouldn't be happening and still shouldn't.

If you watch film, you can see how much Ewers held him back.

I completely agree with this sentiment. He is like player 25 overall in this draft and would be a bit of a reach. He would also help the team a lot if drafted. If anything there should be a 3rd option on this pole. Tolerable.
They really need to trade down if possible. If they somehow con a team into a trade, I would rather draft Egbuka.

I've seen him ranked as high as 15th so it would be a small reach but probably a fairly safe pick in a draft that I see a lot traits based potential guys that remind me of Chaisson in 2020. Lance has had him ranked as the third best WR from the beginning after Burden and Hunter. Second best if you don't count Hunter.

Kyle Williams is him. Day 2 obviously

Don't know if I should vote good or bad. He's not top 12 for me, but the Cowboys are certainly capable of disappointing me so much more that I would take that compromise today if offered.

People were late on him because he plays for Wazzu. They were on the CW all year, people didn't see him play for the most part. I'm sure a lot of people watched Washington State film towards the end of their draft scouting, and he shot up boards out of nowhere.

I wouldn't hate picking Kyle Williams at 76 but if Royals was available, that would be a great pick.

Golden gives the Cowboys something that they thought they had with Cooks. He has questions though but I could live with Mr. Golden.
Brandin Cooks is actually a pretty decent comp for Golden. The big difference between the two players is the production aspect.

Cooks had two 1,000 yard seasons, his Junior year he had 1700 yards and 16 TD's. He won the Biletnikoff Trophy.

If he is Cooks during his Saints, Rams, and Patriots days, sign me up.

Golden isn't that yet. He could get there. His production this year is almost double what he did his first two years at Houston. I think he should have played his senior year. No need for him to do that if he goes top 15 in this draft, but it would of helped with my concerns if he improved again.

It won't be a bad pick if he continues to ascend.

Neutral. I don't love him, especially at 12 but we should all be prepared for the Cowboys to settle for a player at this pick since it won't be easy to find a taker to trade down.

I'm actually more of an Egbuka fan. I think he is the most "Dak-friendly" WR in this class when it comes to the combination of size and ability.

Looks like mock draft consensus is 20. So yeah I would feel not great about that should be a slight trade down, or just try to trade down and get whoever WR or not later in the first.
