How would you feel if this was our draft?

Not what I want (everyone should know I'm no Takk fan by now),but I honestly see this as a likely scenario...with the way we treated all 30 of our pre draft visits is seems pretty apparent that the FO has 2 goals this draft 1) Fix the secondary 2) add a potential impact pass rusher. This draft could potentially do both of those things.

1st- Marlon Humphrey CB Alabama/Kevin King CB Washington- I think 1 makes it to the pick and will be BPA and fit immediate day 1 starter criteria as well.

*Trade Up*- Cowboys trade picks 60, 92 and a conditional 4th round pick in 2018 to move up into the 36-42 range. A run of pass rushers in the late 1st/early 2nd wipes Watt, Harris, Willis and Bowser off the board forcing the FO's hand knowing we still need a pass rusher badly. Takk is still on the board because of his injury concern so they take the risk and pull the trigger to get him. The comp picks in pocket make it a lot easier do deal a pick next year. The 4th rounder is the latest of our picks in the round(so last comp pick)

2nd- Takk McKinley DE UCLA- Could this be another D Law mistake? Yeah probably, but it doesn't stop the front office from going after their war daddy. Considering the scenario it's really not the worst gamble. If Takk can hit as a pass rusher like they hope and also hit on secondary picks the D could be in REALLY good shape going forward.

4th- Tedric Thompson S Colorado/Xavier Woods S La Tech- Both are ballhawking play makers that excel in coverage. Both can contribute early in nickel and dime packages and spell Heath on obvious passing downs at safety.

6th- Aaron Jones RB UTEP- 3rd down pass catching back that plays special teams. I don't see Morris making the team.

7th- Developmental OT

7th- Developmental DT

I dont think Humphries falls and I dont really like King in the first. Id rate T.J Watt and Derrick Barnett ahead of him as far as overall prospects.

Honestly wouldnt hate Takk at 28, but Im not a fan of that tradeup. Thats 3 picks for one. Thats alot of assets to move up in the 2nd round

I would be pretty upset to give up those picks more so than the players selected and from Stephen Jones comments, I doubt a move up is in the cards early in the draft. At least a significant move up in the 1st or 2nd.

No trade ups, and especially no trades giving away future picks within reason.
Like don't give away next years 5th for a 6th this year, because they are afraid they can't get him in the 7th or as an UDFA. They always do so,etching stupid like that.
A slight trade down is ok to get an extra 2nd round and 5th, and move up in the 3rd or 4th round, or a pick next year.

There is a group of players from late first round to the late 2nd round that we can get 2 or 3 and be better off than trading up to get 1. This range of players to me are all about the same caliber player at different positions that can help right away?

that would be a nightmare

Takk is not a 3 for 1 player but just take him at 28 if you think so

I'd take it...grudgingly.

But if our draft room wanted Tak and strongly felt he'd be there in the early 2nd (and thought the risk worth it) then Id trade down and ADD an early 3rd vs losing our current 3rd.
Just seems that this CB class is deep.

Or they could just take him at 28 and stick with our picks as is.

I'd hate it
This is exactly why you take DE in td 1 and there will be very very good DBs in RDs 2 and 3
Just take them
