How would you play Bengals on D

They have 2 big receiving threat but the TE is probably out.
Would double Green the whole game.

On obvious passing downs, would play 3 DL only, have Lee as a spy on RB, double Green, leaving 5 to cover 3 remaining receivers. 7 DBs would be Mo, Carr, Brown, Jones, Church, Wilcox and Heath. Nzeocha is possible LB with his speed.

On other downs, would play 4 DT to stop the run, with 7 remaining defenders being Lee, Mo, Jones, Church, Carr, Brown and final LB/S. LB could be Nzeocha/Durant. DB could be Wilcox or Heath.

I would never go three down linemen unless it's a prevent situation. I would let Mo cover green 1 on 1 until he got smoked then bring the double. If you recall Mo did a pretty good job on Julio last season.

I would try to mix in some corner blitzes. Bernard and the Defensive line is the only thing that scares me in this game.

Yes, I meant 3DL for obvious passing downs.
Regarding Green, I would double him with 1 of the DB playing press most of the time.

I would shadow Claiborne on green with jones over the top. Then play Lafell straight up with Carr and have lee shadow Bernard on passing downs. They don't have any real game breakers this year(eifert out) besides green so he is my focus.

They will not change much.

The defense played well again last week..

and saved the game with the interception..

and the 4th down stand.

They are doing OK.

Marinelli won't blitz much becuz he wants to not give up big plays.

If our offense is moving the ball and scoring..

it will be status quo defensively.

If we get behind again like with the 9ets..

we will see some blitzing.

So not much is going to change.

Blitz and put Mo on AJ Green with Jones over the top at all times. Dalton is bad under pressure and they don't have anybody that scares me besides AJ.

Our blitz sucks

I agree but hopefully will improve with D Law representing a pass rush on the edge. Just send 1 LB to put the idea in Dalton's head. Attempt to create a push up the middle so he can't step up. Doesn't have to be anything exotic or over the top with 6 or 7, just send Durant/Hitch every 3 or plays to apply pressure and try to create plays. I don't want to see Dalton with 3-5 seconds to throw in a comfortable pocket like we are accustomed to allowing.

If we are going to blitz a DB/LB, I would line him up on the weak side so that it would force a Bengal RB to pick up the blitz. This would eliminate one receiving threat with a single defender, assuming blitz does not work.
In a passing down, I would play 3 DL with this one blitzing LB. That would leave 7 defenders to cover 4 remaining receiving threats. Or 5 defenders to cover 3 receiving threats after Green is doubled.
If we then double their 2nd and 3rd best receiving options, that leaves single coverage on the last threat. If that last threat is a WR, I would use Clairborne. If that is a TE, then use Jones.

3 men on Green at all times. If he comes out from for a play, drop it to just 2 men. Take no chances

Dont take mo or carr out of man coverage. Let them take green and give safety help, but stay in man coverage. He will line up in the slot too.
