How would you use Dez next week?

Our secret weapon. The skins must tremble.

For me, I wouldn't use him on returns, not yet.

That little quick, "smoke" screen that Ogletree had a lot of luck with. I bet Dez breaks one for some big yardage.

Maybe a back shoulder sideline throw, give Dez the chance to break the tackle of the CB and get some big yardage.

Yeah it's kind of a BS thread, but just thinking ...

No clue but JG better do something this year with the play calling cause he has a crazy talented Offense.

I'm actually more interested to see Austin operate from the slot. I think that might be initially more effective than any routes Dez runs.

I'd start him out at WR & see if he can catch on there. ;)

Just kidding - getting giddy about real football getting played.

I don't know. I haven't seen the kid play. I don't know what he's good at yet.

They better try to go deep a couple times with him. even if its unsuccessful it gives the Commanders something to worry about for the whole game. Forget smoke screens, go at them.

dude.....what has JG shown you since he has been here that he knows how to use our weapons.....he has no idea how to play call and scheme......

Bull ...

I'd put him in as the #2 after the 1st Romo to Roy screw up of the night happens.

He'll be the 3rd WR in our nickel offense with Austin in the slot. I'm sure they'll call a smoke screen or 2 to get him into the game. Maybe even a reverse.

On a crossing pattern, preferably single covered by a safety or linebacker.

I'd use him in a slow, long developing gadget play that results in a loss of 15 yards when we only needed 1 yard on the goal line to score a TD....

They will never expect it!

Starting opposite Austin.

Anyone else just chomping at the bit to see this kid play. I can't wait.

If it were me, I'd have him out there for the first snap.
Maybe we go 3 WR and throw it to him deep on the 1st play.

No tricks, no deception. Don't even think I'd like to go play action, because you can get hurt by the blitz with your QB turning his back to the LOS.

Here's my 1st play:

3 WR set with Austin in the slot left and Roy wide right, Witten tight right, Dez wide left and Felix as the single RB.

Romo takes a straight 7 step drop.

We set this up as 7 man protection with Witten helping out our RT and Felix moving to the left to pick up and unaccounted for rushers. If he has no one to block, he can float out to the left flat as an out let.

Roy runs a deep post. Austin and Dez both take off and at 10 yards down the field, Austin makes an inside move Romo pumps to just as his back foot hits the 7th step. Dez makes a studer move just as Romo is pump faking to perhaps get his CB to bite just a little. Then Dez takes off and Romo looks to hit him in stride 40-45 yards down the left sideline.

Now if they're running a pure cover 2 bump and run on Roy and Dez with 2 safeties deep then Austin on the in is the play here.
If they're playing off Dez in single coverage, than the play is deep to Dez.

Are you an offensive coordinator somewhere?

Nice post. I'll have to decipher it once I'm sober ..
