Thought I would start a thread for the first time here. I'm a huge huge Cowboy fan and have been all my life. The different thing about this is I live dead smack in the middle of Illinois. Bear country, PUKE!!!!!!!!! Everyone's first assumption is that not living in Texas that if you like the Cowpokes you liked them because of Troy, Michael, and Emmitt. I remember rooting for the boys when ole Babe was the qb and we were awful. I remember dad and I getting all pumped when we drafted Troy. My dad was smart enough to see Tony D run and ended up becoming a Cowboy fan for life. Naturally through my good fortune my dad was a Cowboy fan. Thank god cause if not I'd prolly be a Bears fan.

Just curious how everyone else became a cowboy fan also. I'm sure most are going to be similar stories to mine, but it's always nice hearing the stories that come along with how you became a fan of the Cowboys. Go Cowboys:starspin

For a microsecond, I considered becoming a Commanders fan. But then, out of the clear Cowboy blue, reality ***** slapped me hard across the face. The rest, as they say, is history.

Reality certainly does have a wicked right hook. And a pretty darn good website to boot.

Two of my uncles, one on each side of the family were Landry fans and got me into liking them when I was little. I've been hooked since. I get crap from Colts fans all the time since I'm an hour from Indy.

I can't say that I can point to a time and say that was when I became a fan. I've always been a fan as long as I can remember, even though my dad was the biggest Houston Oilers fan (Luv Ya Blue). I'm just lucky I guess. My heroes have always been Cowboys !!!

I grew up in the late '70's not really liking football all that much. In junior high it seemed everyone had a favorite pro football team. I lived in Falcons territory (S.C.) so they weren't an option but it seemed that every Sunday afternoon there were this bunch of guys in white uniforms with stars on the helmets that would be on the TV. So I just kinda started paying attention to them and a 28 year love affair is the result.

Moved to Northern Virginia in mid 1970s and at that point I was kinda a Bears fan. However, after listening/watching HC George Allen of the Commanders whine and complain about the Cowboys, I got fed up with Allen and started rooting for the Cowboys & Staubach. Now retired living in Florida and still a big Cowboy fan. Have never attended a Cowboy game in my life.

Tony Dorsett and the :star:. I was hooked at 6. Even in Sheagles land. I was forced to watch them on a very small Black and White in the unfinished basement while the rest of the family watched on the big color TV in the living room. It was worth it.

Nothing as good as you guys, I was born into a Cowboys family, and I am so glad that I was. You guys are the true fans that the Cowboys play for every Sunday. Keep on cheering.
