The parallels between the Birds' signing of Darren Howard and Dallas' 2004 blunder with Marcellus Wiley are striking.

Both are/were 29 years old. Both were 2nd round picks. Both were born in November. Wiley is listed at 6-4, 275; Howard at 6-3, 275. Wiley had 44 career sacks; Howard has 44.5 career sacks.

Both made their rep with two double-digit sack seasons -- Wiley with 10.5 and 13; Howard with two 11-sack seasons. Both were coming off down seasons -- Wiley had 3 sacks in 2003, while Howard had 3.5 last year. Both were criticized and benched by former coaches during that season.
Wiley was never heard from again. Howard?

Very interesting.... Hopefully they get screwed as bad as we did. Then there will be even more parallels.

Lets hope so. Eagles paid twice as much for Howard then we did Wiley. Hope he's twice as bad. Don't know if that's possible.. :D

#1: Howard will play opposite Javon Kearse, Wiley was playing opposite Ellis.

#2: Howard will be playing for one of the best (if not the best ) DCs in the NFL while Wiley was playing for ...... you guessed it.. the talented and ;) underrated Zimmy.

big difference in my opinion. if Howard and Kearse stay healthy, they will be a force in that defence.

Great pic Yo Mick!

Howard will be a better player than Wiley, but then again, my mother would be. He will get 5-7 sacks, much like Kearse. He will not see the end of his contract due to age and a drop off in production.

Ellis has outplayed kearse during his tenure as an eagle.

I am pretty sure Ellis has had more sacks than Kearse every year since he joined the Eagles.

Wiley was not half the head case Howard is. Watch Howard go nuts again when he's not starting and Eagles have another TO on their hands. Do they ever learn?

I believe Wiley had played at Pro Bowl level once in Career, Howard never has.

Didnt Wiley come to us recovering from injury... whereas Howard is not...?

Yes, in fact Howard has a bad knee that flared up last year.
