Didn't Sparano incorporate some zone blocking in the running and that is why the O-line in some games last year look horrible while running. I know most of his schemes were straight up hit the guy across from you but I could have swore there was some talk they used zone in some running plays.

Makes you wonder how we finished 7th best in the NFL in yards per carry last year (with Julius splitting carries).

Whereas now we've skyrocketed two spots to 5th (in no small part thanks to Felix' 60 yarder).

Bennet has been consistently delivering GREAT blocks too.

i really think that's been the key.

but colombo has improved immensely as well.

No Offense to Sporano, but we really upgraded with HH.

Houck was the key to the SB teams in the 90s. Emmitt owes him a lot.

I like HH but I think most of the praise shoiuld go to the players. I do see better blocking on the goal line.

I said all offseason I thought he could end being the key acquisition of the year for us. I know some though Sparano was good, but I always thought he was weak when it came to run blocking. It's only been 3 games, but the improvement in our running game over the past few seasons is VERY obvious. Instead of a bunch of 1 and 2 yd runs followed by one decent one, we're seeing more consistent positive gains.
