Huge concern: Wade Wilson will never be fired

We know how big a leash Garrett has. Well I’d say that probably is the same with his former teammate Wade Wilson.

If only we could get a QB coach to teach Dak how to use his mobility and how to stop with the fade away passes. Wade had it easy the first 7 years because Romo didn’t need coaching on HOW TO THROW.

It’s amazing that almost 2 years into this we still have a starting QB that doesn’t know how to throw accurately on even mid range passes

Most of us are probably pretty happy with the level of QB play in Dallas over the last 12 years or so. When we're not busy freaking out over losses, that is.

Dak just needs more footwork training. That's the reason he throws low or high, because of his footwork. Hopefully the new OC will teach him all of that.

And to the OP, you're right. Coaches around here get lifetime contracts it seems. Eberflus was a Rob Ryan guy and has stuck around forever as well. I'm not even sure what Dooley does? Keep Dez calm? Only thing that has changed is our secondary coach. Just tired of the same old same old. Continuity only works when you win.

That's what happens when you have Jerry as the GM. Lets not forget he forced Jason Garrett on Wade Phillips. Hence the reason I don't think we will ever get a real coach. Jerry just does too much instead on focusing on just marketing the cowboys.

I've said this for years, that Wilson is totally useless. When I said the same thing I heard "but look what he's done with a 4th rd draft pick". Wilson couldn't get a single win out of two veteran QB's when Romo went down.
Last year, from the draft to the season they had no idea he was going to be thrust into the starting role where he excelled and looked like a poised veteran leading the team to a 13-3 record. Now, after a full off season off Wilson and Garrett "coaching him up" he looks like a shell of the player we saw last year.

Dak is going to have to do what Romo did and that is to put Garrett and Wilson on auto ignore and return to being a winning QB.

Myself, I'm a loyal type of fan...but in the Army, crusty wore well on some older NCO's.

His footwork was much better last season and even earlier this year.

I think it’s a confidence thing. Getting beat up against Atlanta and having to take on more without Zeke shook him. Hopefully getting a taste of winning football and having his OL back playing at a high level has him having fun again playing football instead of pressing.

Now that's the ticket...

Agree
He has happy feet and does not climb the pocket

I want the entire staff switched out. I have been saying for the last few years or so, at least 3 now. That they assistant coaches do nothing. They have not developed players, nor teach them anything.
They need to go, as well as this style defense.

But we know Garrett, and most likely on the offensive side these coaches are staying. As well for the defense, they will be here another year or 2 also most likely. Unless the defense against the Commanders was just a result of a beat up OL. and then they revert back to crap again. Then they may get the boot, but doubt it.

Anyway, I guess I will try to refocus on any positives and negatives from the players, and what needs to be done there in the off season. No use complaining about the coaching staff anymore except a few comments here and there as needed.

I remember one sack early in the game, I think when we were backed up that was all on him. Step into the pocket, make a throw..he tried to roll out and landed into the arms of a defender.

He knows better. He probably still has nightmares of Chaz Green protecting his blind side. He doesn’t trust his OL as much right now.

I will need to see Dak struggle WITH Zeke playing before I panic about Dak and Wilson.
When we have all our guys on the field, we are pretty darn good. If he turns out to be a very good QB and not a great one, we will be OK.

If Dak looks bad under these circumstances I will worry about him. Right now a bigger issue would be a lack of talent in our D.

Maybe Jaylon is coming on? Maybe our rookie DBs are coming on? Maybe we have 2 or 3 pieces in place on the DL? We still need more difference makers on D-those guys who can take over a game a dominate.

Dak needs to drop the option but just take off running when the first down marker is wide open..

Dak is a second year 4th round pick. I think WW is doing pretty damn good after taking an undrafted rookie and doing VERY well with him. Give WW some slack here.

As much trouble as Dez and Williams have had getting open, with Witt and Bease being double covered and the OL limited in past weeks, it's no wonder that Dak has been inconsistent lately. Let's see how he does with the OL returning to health in the weeks to come, OK?

This team's problems go much deeper than Wilson and Dak. I think that's the deal with Dak's recent struggles, pure and simple. Wilson's coaching may or may not be an issue, although I doubt we're seeing enough evidence to offer kneejerk conclusions as to what goes on with Wilson in practice and in team meetings. The staff needs to take care of noticing such problems if they exist -- that's what they're there for, after all.
