Well, Jerry was snappy at a reporter after the game. Said something like he/she would twist his words and he was a little peeved during the conversation. I was laughing.

Maybe this tweet was based on that.

This is the type of decision that is routinely made around the league by GMs...yes...usually in consultation with a coaching staff...and yes...usually in consultation with ownership.

Like it or not...Jerry is our GM...and ownership.
It is a decision that is never made by a GM. The only decision made by a GM in regards to a team is who the Head Coach is.

If a GM determines who the starter is then he has absolutley no right to judge a HC on that team's performance.

Additionaly, he has undermined the HC's authority. If a player dislikes a coachimg decision he might then attempt to have it overruled bu the GM. In turns into asking mommy when daddy says no.

Coaching is not a democracy, there is no committee. For the sake of accountibility discipline, consistency, and continuity, the HC is the undisputed decision maker for that team when it comes to depth charts, philosophy, and strategy.

Any Hall of Fame coach would have walked at the first suggestion that a GM could decide a starter.

You aren't paying attention if this is what you believe. If you don't think GMs override coaches on short term vs long term decisions you...again....aren't paying attention or are just naive.
