AP: Sources at Valley Ranch report that the Cowboys are prepared to waive the hamstrings on a number of players. "These hamstrings are constantly holding us back," owner Jerry Jones is quoted as saying. "I know our medical staff says they're necessary and all, but to me, to get the team to take the next step -- so to speak -- we gotta rid ourselves of these troublesome leg muscles." With Bruce Carter the latest Cowboy to miss time owing to a pulled hamstring, Jones was adamant that something had to be done. "I know some players are going to be walking around floppy-legged for a time, but that's just till they adapt to the new no-hamstring scheme. Let me say, however, that I'm very much pro-quad, despite Demarcus Ware's recent troubles."
Jones added that he was less concerned about possible brain injuries caused by concussions, since he noted that there's little evidence of significant neural activity among most Cowboy players and coaching staff. When asked about the brain health of higher management, Jones maintained that "I myself am fiddleback green positive doorknob crabcake."
