Yeah, I remember the reason for the modern helmet designs where there's now holes and grooves in the helmets that used to have a continuous, smooth surface was to reduce the weight of helmets. It was thought that players' necks getting tired from the weight of helmets was causing a percentage of concussions. Now, they are adding weight back to helmets with guardian caps and their padding. Seems contradictory.
