I was referring to Emmitt's 1993 two game holdout.

Didn't they get Eddie George from the Oilers to replace Emmitt?

In either case, Emmitt wasn't ever really replaced. The closest they got was a two back system of Marion Barber with Julius Jones or Felix Jones.

Eddie George signed with Dallas in 2004 which was 2 years after Emmitt's last season with Dallas (2002). Hambrick was the starter in Dallas in 2003, the year Emmitt moved to Arizona. He had almost 1000 yards that year but was cut in the offseason after Dallas drafted Julius Jones in the 2004 draft. Julius broke his shoulder week 2 vs. Cleveland in 2004 and George had to take a much larger workload for half the year.

So Emmitt -> Hambrick -> Jones/George.

The Oilers became the Titans in 1999. The name change must have worked because they went to the Super Bowl that year. Dallas might want to try that since nothing else has succeeded in getting them over the hump for the last several decades.
