In my efforts to find DE's that will fill a need if we miss out on the early obvious choices I ran across this guy.

He is not exactly a secret since he was 3rd in NCAA in sacks with 14.5 last year but he is being projected in the 4th round or so.

He missed half his Junior season due to injury and had that not happened he might be on a lot more radars.

He is 6'3 and weighs 274 so the size is there.

He was 1st team all pac 12 and had 5 sacks in one game.

He is a high motor guy who plays the run well in addition to being a pass rusher.

I like this kid a lot and if we miss out on pass rushers early he would be a great add.

very short arms. NFL right tackles will have their way with this kid. adding another 10 pounds or so and moving to DT may be his best bet to making it in the league.

Yeah. 31 in arms but sometimes I would just prefer a guy with a non stop motor that doesn't quit even if he doesn't have all of the measurables.

Ejuan Price is another high producer with less than perfect arm length. If we miss out on one of the early no-brainer guys like this can contribute.

Price was getting 2nd round hype not to long ago but he has the bend and speed to play 3-4 OLB. Dimick doesn't have the bend nor the athleticism for the right side and all we have are LDE's on this team is seems. Im sticking by what i said he needs to bulk up and move to DT where arm length wont be much a problem and he can use his wide array of pass rush moves.

Well that's fine. Maybe he makes a better DT prospect than a DE. Anyway we can apply pressure is good.

I just have a sneaking suspicion we are not going to get a pass rusher early.

Takk and Taco seem to be moving up the boards plus I think there is a high chance someone drops in the first that the team can't pass on. I can just see someone falling that the team falls in love with. WR, TE, maybe even Ramczyck or Jabril Peppers.

Then in the second and 3rd rounds the CB, S, OT, and WR options look enticing and if we don't get a tight end early I could see them falling in love with Butt.

Combine the way it looks like prospects may fall and the way DLaw and Tapper should be available and I am starting to believe we might not see any pass rush added early.

A Dimick/Price combo if we end up with another mid round pick may not be so bad. Or maybe I am just trying to convince myself it wont be the end of the world if we don't add a pass rusher early.

Mathis, Bashem and Boser are some others I have looked at that might be able to help as well.

i understand where your trying to look at but Dimick seems like another one of those highly productive college players whos limitations will finally catch up to him at the next level. This seems to happen more to LBs and safeties more so Dimick has chance to make it in the NFL at a position where his limitations won't matter nearly as much and where his strengths will actually be highlighted.

Also Mathis has been getting 1st and 2nd round buzz in the scouting community. Now if he tanks the combine then that obviously dies down and Bowser would be a better fit at our 4-3 SLB who we can use to blitz and maybe play DE on 3rd and long a few plays a game. He also already moving up draft boards. Bashem may be a nice 4ht round pick. with no 5th round pick this year, we would have to take a guy like Bashem, Carraway, Wise, & Hendrickson in the 4th because slim chance that one will be their by the end of the 6th round. especially after 2 rounds of comp picks.

Price is best suited in a 3-4. He is not big enough to play 4-3 end at either spot.
