Hunter Niswander Getting Screwed

I know it's just a punter (playing kicker), but this dude is getting screwed by the Cowboys. He had a 50.3 punting average last night that follows up 47.2 average (42 net) from last year. And he is being asked to play kicker and isn't very good at it based on last night. All of this and they are going to hand the P job over to the vet just because... decisions like this seem small, but aren't good for the team IMO. Make it an open competition, best man wins the job.

I don't think the team will dock him for missing FGs. I just believe it was just to see if he could kick them in a preseason game.

Unless Anger can show he is the better punter and emergency kicker I wouldn't read too much into it.

Don't worry. If he gets cut, he won't be out of work long. Probably put a "punt down" on us as his new team crushes us & goes to the playoffs.

Oh well, we can say he "was" a Cowboy first.

It's monumentally stupid that they don't have an actual active placekicker on the roster right now. And, they haven't even really practiced placekicking with having a new long snapper and holder as well. The coaching so far is looking as good as it did a year ago.

He is also the normal holder for field goals. New snapper, holder and kicker. Three kicks in practice. There is no reason to think that that operation will be successful.

I don't think so, he is being given the chance to show he can take on duel role should Zerline go down and we need a FG kicker in a pinch. Niswander mail role would still be punter should he make the team. More you can do to help your team the better chance. Having said that he did not fair well on 2 of the 3 FG tries but getting the opportunity is in no way getting screwed by the team
