Anyone realize that Hurd wasn't doing the Hook em sign? Watch again, he is doing the "I love you" sign. Maybe the NFL will come back tomorrow and say it was actually on Miles doing the leap frog over Roy.....

That is funny, on ESPN they were even making fun of Hurd saying he couldnt even get the hook'em sign right.

What is the difference between 2 players throwing their arms straight in the air or doing fist pumps and 2 players doing hand signals? The NFL is getting out of hand with this crap.

Dallas deserves to get penalized on some plays. But the NFL is really making a mockery of themselves by covering up for these refs thats been calling our games lopsidedly.

You can tell when someone is lying when their talking. The NFL is the one who is talking right now. The Cowboys hasn't said much about these plays. But the NFL is been fumbling with words and backtracking in trying to make a point on why they did what they did.

I'd would have respect for the NFL if they came out and said they have screwed up and won't do it again. Yet they just keep coming up with these ridiculous excuses.

And one lie is just leaning to another. I don't know why they just don't admit they goofed up like they always do. Probably will bring unwanted attention to them but yesterday's game was one of the most lopsided officiated games I've seen in recent memory.

Whats ironic about it all is that the Cowboys have their pink gloves in the air, supposedly for breast cancer research, donations and awareness--they're sporting a charitable cause with those gloves. That's why they're freaking pink. So after the Dallas Cowboys score, they get penalized and punished for representing a good cause.

I really think the refs should be ashamed of themselves. I was hoping CrazyCowboy would take care of the dirty work instead of just watching us get ripped by the refs like that. Oh, well, maybe a poster by the name of CrazierCowboy will join our site and go tackle the ref.

:ref:

Shame on those refs.

Seriously.

The "I Love You" Sign. :lmao2::bow:

Anyways.

I think especially Mr Johnson is a Joke.

what Next? to flag players for smiling or when they hug
They are taking the fun out of the game

I do think the NFL has gone way over board on this call but I also agree with Wade when he tells the guys from now on we go by the college celebration rules. You want to celebrate do it on the sidelines or when the game is over. It may not be fair but it is the way it is and the Cowboys can't afford to keep giving the refs ammo

.

every player in the league is wearing that stuff.

you are reaching big time here with your "irony"

So now, if two people raise their hands in the air, making different signs, that is a penalty ?

I just want to be clear, so that this is called on other teams too.

I agree it's nitpicking, but lets not overstate it either. Look at the picture. Do you really think an official would recognize those as different signs?

Who cares. They shouldn't have been doing anything. And it cost us again. And, yes, the celebration rules are convoluted and foolish and detract from the game.

This is my point. So what if the rules are screwed and vague and interpereted differently, and so what if the refs can nitpick - do we really want to protest how unfair all that is by continuing to try things to see what the refs will let us do, or do we decide to do the smart thing and just not run even the slightest risk. We need to take it completely out of the refs hands and just not do anything other than spike the ball and run off the damn field.

Amen, brotha.

We need to go back to the Landry year when they'd score and hand the ball to the ref and walk over to the sidelines to congratulate and celebrate. And that should have happened before last weekend. It's inexcusable, really, that our coaches didn't stop this from happening.

To his credit, Austin diagnosed the celebration right on Monday. It was idiotic. He knows it, and owns it. Still should never have happened.

What? I take it you never saw Butch Johnson play. :laugh2:

He should have said that he was using two fingers to point up to the sky and give God his glory. Evidently you can do just about any sort of celebration you want as long as you point up to the sky at the end.

It's just amazing. Mostly the rule changes are about what the general public might think or so they claim.

IRONICALLY they are not saving ratings, they are going backwards, driving dedicated people away from the game, for some imagined broken promise of virtue. Why does it matter so much to Society what everyone else thinks. I'll never know.

If the purpose of the rule was to draw attention away from the celebrations, good job with that ... we've now spent 2 weeks breaking down and talking about endzone celebrations.

Just like any beurocratic nanny-state meaningless arbitrary rule ... it typically does the exact opposite of what it was set out to accomplish.
