I really loved seeing Garrett hold Hurns hand last night after his injury. It brought back a lot of memories. I dealt with many of those situations as a HC. We waited on our field for twenty minutes once for a helicopter that landed on our field to take one of my boys to the hospital after a neck injury. I always held their hands and talked to them to distract them from the pain and to give them reassurance. Some kids would be VERY scared and worried about different things, from will I walk again, can I play the second half, my parents can't pay medical bills....etc..
Anyway, kudos to Garrett. Most of you know I'm not his fan, doesn't all have to do with his coaching, but last night made me smile and he earned some respect from me. Not that he cares, lol!

Great move by Garrett, I agree. And Hurns is such a great guy himself and such an unselfish teammate, it sucks he had to go through that.

Hurns gets replaced by Amari Cooper. He came into games to essentially block every week after that. And the guy never once complained. Not once, in an era where too many players, especially receivers, are "me me me" personalities.

Get well, Allen, Cowboys Nation is with you all the way!

Garrett is slowly earning the respect he deserves not just from fans, but from everyone.

Good ... I made a post about this. Glad you’re on board Ranching. Good move by the coach.

This is an example of why playersove him. It's his biggest asset.

Yeah, it was a classy move and Hurns hasn't been able to replace what we got from Dez, but he has done everything he can to help the team. That really is all you can ask from a player.

Oh please! Lol. A traffic cone was an upgrade over Dez as a player.

Yeah....not really. But keep living the dream. Hurns was brought in as a replacement for Dez and caught 1/3 the number of passes and TD's.

The Dez that couldn't find a job and then immediately got injured because he spent all his free time playing Madden? Lol. I think you are the one who is missing the boat.

I am sure Dez is a good hearted, good guy personally. But Dez was DONE.

Yeah, because Achilles injuries never happen to athletes that are in shape.

Replacing a guy and only getting 1/3 of the production out of his replacement, especially considering he was the #1 receiver for the first half of the year....doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If we dropped Dez and immediately picked up Cooper, then it makes sense. We made an error in judgement about how easily Dez could be replaced, and it almost cost us "bigly" in the first half of the season.
