Looks like Hurricane Ike will come through Irving over the weekend. According to the weather reports, most of the rain will be out of here by monday night. But the rain for a couple of days prior to the game will probably come down in buckets.

My question........Do you think the Cowboys would put a tarp over the field for a couple of days prior to the game (do they even have a tarp)????

Or since its that synthetic grass, will it even matter?

They do have tarps, and it does matter... the artificial turf is like a big fat sponge that soaks in the rain until its a mini-lake.

Yea, panic has hit this area. Dallas may feel some rain but will have lots of visitors! 2.5 Million evacuating the south coast have to go somewhere.

That field is really crowned, I don't think the water would be an issue at all.

it rained pretty much all day yesterday, and its supposed to rain the rest of the week pretty much, so I doubt ike will change anything.

I think its going to rain like we've never seen around here for a couple days. News just said we could get 8 inches.

It won't be Hurrican Ike if and when it hits Irving. It will be more like a tropical depression Ike or remnants of a tropical storm. Come Monday you should be high and dry.

It would probably make the field slick in some areas so they might go with tarps to try and cut down on that.

I hear you. We were dying for rain and I was praying Gustov would get here. I didn't even get spit on.

Rest assured, your pond will fill up 6 feet in no time when Ike hits. I guaranty it.

You never know... Just last night, they had the track on Sunday about a hundred miles west of where it is now, so the trend is moving it to the east after it comes inland. If it moves just a little east of DFW, it won't rain on the city that much at all.

yup. and the latest forecast has it even further east than it was early in the day....

the only thing that is safe to say now is the weather men will know where its going when the rest of us do...ie. when it gets there.

I'd like to see that happen so they can play on a dry field.

Those wet fields scare me when I think of possible injuries.

As an Eagle fan, I hope for no damage and that no one gets hurt...BUT, if Hurricane Ike can serve as a distraction to the cowboys in practice, I am all for it.:)

We practice indoors when the weather is poor. Of course there is always a chance that the Eagles team plane could crash in the heavy winds. I heard that the eagles are so cheap they use one of those small propeller jobs to move the team.
