In Jason Garrett's coaching career he's yet to have any surprises in his game plan. I think its time. I think a great strategy against the Giants would be to come out in a hurry up offense. The Giants do a ton of substitutions on defense and I personally think Romo is at his best running the 2:00 offense. Curious to see what yall think.

I thinking changing pace when thing are stagnate is a good thing to do. I don't think I would open that way but I do think when things are not clicking with in the game going to a hurry up can help change things.

This has been suggested a lot to start running a lot of no huddle. We definitely have the passing game to do it.

I am a fan of coming out and running a no huddle on the first drive, scoring quick, and putting the onus on the other team to attempt to compete.

I just want Garrett to do something unpredictable. How bout our first trick play in, oh-say 10 years. Romo is at his best in the 2:00 drill. We can still run the play clock down some, but don't allow Giants to rotate their Dline like they always do.

i've been calling for this for almost 3 years. garrett refuses to do it for some reason.

Well it took him 14 games to discover the slant to Dez, so i'm a little skeptical that he comes up with anything earth shattering for Sunday.

But we can hope.

We don't have the OL to do it.

I would suggest we run it periodically throughout the game to put pressure on the defense. We need to do it with the 12 personnel (1 RB, 2 TEs) so we can alter between passing looks (0 RBs in the backfield) and running looks (2 TEs inline).

Romo is ready to run this offense as he is now in his 5th year in the same system.

Hurry-up offense would help alot but they need to stop that snapping the ball till theres one second left on play clock, that really annoys me because the defense always knows when they are going to snap and it also causes delay of game sometimes

I'd love to see it the entire game if it meant Romo could call the plays.

Not sure if serious, or this is a shot at Garrett's play calling, but it's something I'd love to see. I think Tony would do a great job with this.

I hope not, because the Giants held the blasted ball way too long last time, because Dallas' defense couldn't get off the field. Dallas needs to control the clock in this game and shorten this game. The weather is going to dictate play, and this style of play actually favors the Cowboys. It's going to be cold and windy. I don't expect another track meet at all.

Dallas only had the football for 25:41 while the Giants had it for 34:19. When Dallas has the football, they don't need to rush things, imo. Every second or minute that you possess the football, your defense is off the field. That is where I want Dallas' defense. At the end of the game or half is a different story, but having to move the football (2:00 drill) in the cold and wind could be difficult.

This should be an old fashioned NFC East game.

Run the ball, stop the run, be strong on the back-end on third down, tackle, pressure the QB on third down, win special teams...

This one is going to be fun, because the Giants pride themselves in running the football and stopping the run and winning special teams. I can't wait for Dallas to beat them, in their house, at their own game.

You can run the no huddle and still control TOP. Cowboys rarely snap before 2 seconds are left, so why not just hurry to the line and wait, possibly without even getting set. The Giants would be unable to substitute, and if they tried to everyone gets set and quicksnap it.

Yep..

I loved the way the Saints run their offense. None of that getting to the line at the last few seconds; Brees gets their much earlier then Romo is taught to do which gives Brees lot more time to read the defense. Saints do have a real good OL which we don't so maybe that's a huge factor in why Garrett sticks to old time way of doing things. Just seems to me that the more experienced Payton knew what he wanted to do with his offense the minute he became Saints HC while the inexperienced Garrett is still evolving (?).

BTW: Brees was a pretty decent QB with the Chargers but nowhere as great as he's been with the Saints. Gotta credit Payton with much of Brees' development. Don't forget that Payton offered the Cowboys a 3rd for Romo as soon as he was named HC of the Saints but Jerry was holding out for a 2nd rounder. Can only imagine how good Romo could have become with Peyton as his HC.

You'd almost have to just get to the line without setting.

Whenever the line has to sit for too long in their stances, they piss themselves and jump.
