Hurts is predictable

All im saying is i dont know what hurts is just like you said at first but then you said "More like he has done" and im really asking .....has he been the diference in a game as a passer when the eagles are down and he HAS to throw the ball? thats all....dont think he is bad actual very impressed with the Coaching there and how they make sure this doesnt happen...BUT it will happen, eventually Hurts will have to throw you back into a game...then you will know what you have.

No he hasn’t had to be the difference in the game as a passer of the ball after being behind. He threw dimes on several deep balls this year to take large leads, but he hasn’t had to do it from behind.

I also agree that the coaching staff deserves a ton of credit for designing the offense around his strengths. Hurts also deserves credit for executing it because there are correct decisions that need to be made.

I think the 8-0 start is a result of all of the above…and it’s difficult, with a small sample size of half a season, to know how much credit goes to Hurts, his coaches, or his weapons. It’s a team effort thing.

I went into the season as a big doubter in Hurts. It is very obvious that he has worked hard on his game. His feet look different, and his throwing motion looks different. He does deserve credit for his work.

The reason I said that poster’s comment was “refreshing“ is because it was a post from an honest fan. I do find it kind of laughable that a poster would label Hurts as ‘predictable’ this season. He certainly has not played as I predicted

This is mentioned so often I wanted to review what really happened. I didn't hear any wild cheering when Irvin went down. I did hear applause when Irwin was put in the ambulance at the 11:30 mark, the same as you hear at any game when a seriously injured player from either team is carted off the field.



There are plenty of reasons to dislike Eagles fans. We don't have to create urban legends about things that didn't actually happen.

What's interesting is the Eagles front said this would a trial year. Lurie instructed Roseman to put talent around him to give a fair shot. If he didn't work out, they would use their picks to draft the best option. My point is I'm pretty sure they have are no longer interested in burning a 1st on a QB but I'm not sure they are ready to give him to keys to the franchise, not yet. In other words, I think they will wait until next season.

Keep in mind, he has faced much adversity yet. Let's how he handles losing a weapon or two.

Hasn’t faced adversity? Didn’t he just go from having no weapons, one rookie wide receiver, to having a rb, a line, and a defense?? He went from no playoff shot, when they threw him in mid season with losing record, makes playoff year two, with aforementioned holes, and now is 8-0. Pretty sure that’s no fluke, kid worked on throwing all off-season and it shows.

It will be to his benefit to get him out of the pocket, roll outs, bootlegs, just give his receivers a couple more seconds to get wide open especially on the horizontal routes.
 
Their pass protection hasen't been great in my opinion. Their star left tackle was getting beat by Jerry Hughes like he was Von Miller

Eagles are 10th in Sacks given up despite only playing 8 games and running all those RPOs.

They've given up 22 Sacks, Cowboys have given up 12 (tied for second with JAX, Chargers are first with 10 sacks given up )

Scheme is important and so is QB play (with Rush too), WR talent , and playcalling. We've given up less sacks than the Browns and I'd kill for their offensive line as a whole.
 
I think Hurts has his limitation but then again we face Philly not Hurts alone. Philly brings a solid defense and strong run game and Hurts has shown better accuracy with his throws and has better weapons around him than he has had before. No doubt we can beat them but Hurts is only a portion of what Philly is currently doing
 
we need to win a lot of games before that rematch, may not mean thing to them, if we blow some games between now and then.

the fact hes being discussed as an MVP candidate is laughable to me, not because i hate the eagles but nothing hes done is special.

need an example Geno smith also being in that same discussion. MVP bar being lowered this season. Might be the season another position gets it with qb pay down from the big names. Outside of Mahomes maybe and until recently Josh Allen...

On 239 attempts, only 2 INTs = 0.8%___only Brady is better thus far at 0.3% .
Jones of NYG is 3rd at 0.9%; three QBs tied for 4th at 1.4% ---Herbert, Geno Smith, Tua.

Agree.....if the offense can score a ton of points, not turn the ball over, create a bunch of turnovers for the Eagles, and constantly pressure Hurts, we should be able to win....especially if we just simply score more points than they do.

It's really pretty simple when u think about it.
 
Parsons is too good to let Hurts have his day again.

They give up a few more sacks because Hurts runs around more and extends plays. It's not like they are getting to him in two seconds.
 
Hurts has better numbers throwing the ball through 8 games this season than Dak had through 8 games of his remarkable rookie season. So sayeth the stats.

He's no Peyton Manning but he is improving and he's not doing a bad job of responding to the criticism of his arm game.
