Hurts era in Philly probably over. As an Eagles fan it was a good run. Be shocking to me if he ever plays again.
Could be but hopefully after a couple of months, they will do an ultrasound on him after being on the blood thinners and see if they are still there, by God’s Blessing mine were gone. This is BAD bad - definitely season ending, maybe career ending.
I hope for Jalen's sake that he can get these clots cleared, and that this isn't the end of his NFL road. At the same time, he could be on blood thinners for life, and then there's no way you could clear him for a full contact sport.
He's in a bad place, and none of this was his fault. All you can do is hope for the best.
I am on permanent blood thinners due to the same situation.Jesus!! That's terrible. I feel for the guy. Having blood clots in your lungs is a very serious issue!! The clot could break off and travel to the heart and cause cardiac arrest!! This could be a longer term issue, as well. He may need to be on blood thinners for a long time.
I hope he gets the proper treatment, and pray that he will not have long-term effects.
The story is getting conflated, I’ll walk through the the timelineThey said he played the london game with no sleep and knowledge of clots in his lung? Man, I hope he is ok long term! this is bigger than football.
They knew about it before the London game and still allowed him to take a long flight there and back. Plus they cleared him to play. The story is getting conflated, I’ll walk through the the timeline
1. Hurts gets cleated in the leg against Rams
2. Team flies to London
3. In London, medical tests show a superficial (meaning a surface vein) blood clot in his leg that was forming during the flight. They were already in London when they found that one. Superficial blood clots have a low chance of becoming DVT, which is much more serious. They recommended it would actually be good for him to get physical activity in the leg so they allowed him to play.
4. They fly back home, and guess what? It’s the bad kind and only after returning to Philly find out it’s in his lungs
So was it medical malpractice? Previous guidelines may have been that it’s okay to play with a superficial thrombophlebitis, but you can be assured no one else will ever play with that condition again
I hear you my friend, it’s definitely scary and that was on top of multiple botched surgeries that almost cost me my life, so my blood clots came from being in bed and not able to move.I am on permanent blood thinners due to the same situation.
Yeah and apparently only checked due to the long plane ride back home from London. Hopefully they caught it just in time and he fully recovers. Scary. They said he played the london game with no sleep and knowledge of clots in his lung? Man, I hope he is ok long term! this is bigger than football.
But they didn't. They found it and allowed him to play against the Jags in London. They are now trying to save face. The whole medical staff put his life at stake to try and win a game. They need to be investigated and fired.Wishing him a speedy recovery. Thankfully they shut him down before something catastrophic happened
