I grew up a Big Red fan, as a lot in this territory do. I've been real disappointed in the Huskers since Dr.Tom left. He's back and the next hire will be better. Look for Nebraska to be much improved in the coming years.

Nebraska fans need a reality check. Nebraska wanted to hire former Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and he turned them down. They tried to hire other coaches and no one was willing to go there. Callahan was a last ditch effort. They settled on him. It's like he was their first choice. Plenty of Husker fans were excited by his hire. They were sick of the option attack and criticized the old guard for not updating their offense to suit modern times. Callahan was a west coast guy and the fans ate it up.
