I agree with every one of your picks. Although I hope we're wrong about Price and especially Newman. Newman has to restore my confidence in him

I don't agree with the Newman thing, I think Newman will be tested, and teams will be sorry for it.

Yeah he will give up some catches (all corners do) but ultimately you will lose if you continue to test him.

I think I agree with everything but the one about Price. (unless I interpreted it wrong) I think people are not giving him the credit he deserves. This guy is fast, quick, there is a difference, and he has all the tools needed to be an outstanding WR. In Atl, he was not givin the opportunity to showcase his talent to the extent of his role in Buffalo. I'm not saying just because he's back with Bledsoe he'' make the ProBowl, but I think he will become an integral part of our offense very soon. Another note, what do you mean by saying TNew wont be what he was advertised to be! You mean before last year, or after.....or after this preseason? I asl because IMO, I think will surprise a hell of a lot of people this year. I think defenses are going to underestimate his ability and I think he will capitalize on that. Newman has come around, and he will prove to be exactly what he was advertised to be, or more!!!

Drew Bledsoe is the QB we have been looking for since Aikman left - Nope, probably the best we've had since then, but not the franchise type of QB we have been waiting for, much too old.

Julius Jones will be a 1700 yard 10+ TD back - yes

Jason Witten is going to cement his status as an elite TE - yes, maybe even already

Rob Pettiti will be a solid starting RT when the season ends - yes, being alongside Rivera is going to be a huge help over the season.

The OL will be one of the best OLs in the league by the end of the season - already is with pro bowlers and two young guys with good potential.

Terry Glenn will be the deep threat and offensive spark he was before he went down last year - I think he partially will, but i think Price will have a year similar to what Glenn would have had last year if he didnt get injured ( bit of a reach i know)

Peerless Price is the one of Buffalo and not Atlanta - buying

Patrick Crayton is the young WR we have been needing for a long long time - no. we definitely need him, but we still need a young #1 WR

Demarcus Ware will be the pass rush that we lost when Charles Haley retired - yes

Roy Williams is back in All Pro form - yes

Terrence Newman will be what he was advertised to be - tnew will never live up to my expectations(because we passed leftwich to get him) but he will never live up to the hype he had when he came out either. still gonna be a solid guy for the length of his contract

Anthony Henry is worth the signing bonus - yes

Dallas Defense will be a Top 10 Defense - yes

This years rookie class will be the Cowboys best since "The Dirty Dozen" - yes

Dallas will make the playoffs - yes

Our kicker will cost us a game or games - yes if we keep Cortez as starter.

I think Newman will be fine this year....

I think Petitti has what it takes to get it done.

Bledsoe may be the best STOP GAP QB we've had since Troy left, but that's the part that bothers me the most. We are in a QB carousel! I have high hopes for Henson, altough they are getting dashed by him not making the improvement I thought he would make this year. Romo...should be a solid #3 guy, and the fact he is #2...well, nuff said.

Are you nuts??? What have you been smoking?

Just kidding...I have been reading all kinds of forums today and that appears to be the required response to someone who disagrees with you. :laugh2:

I really hope you are right. If Newman comes through, our already improved D will be really really good.

I'm in agreement with everything here except the Newman statement. I'm buying that one at a premium. I haven't seen him beaten cleanly this preseason and with the overall improvement in the secondary it only help him. When teams try him they will pay just like the Texans did in the end zone. Teams are not going to make a living going against him.

disagree with OL. I think it'll be respectable. We still need upgrade via draft next yr.

disagree with Newman. He'll be better than Henery this yr.

not buying 1700 yds but ok with 10 TD's. Backups will get lot of reps to keep him fresh so I don't think he gets 1700 but 1450 yds

Upgrade at RT and C i assume? I think both of them are solid, you can't have an all star at every position. I guess we will have to see at the end of this year whether or not Al/Gurode and Pettitti warrant being replaced or if they have earned the starter spot for 2006.

lol

I don't look at the games, I play close close attention to certain positions. And having Tivo helps to see if a person was really burned, or if something happened.

Now when I looked at the big slant that the receiver caught across the middle in the Arizona game against Newman, it was his fault--I think he was a little confused with the coverage responsablity on that play, since AZ was running a 3 wr set, and they Boys were playing a 3-4.

The small slant he gave up to a WR in the Seattle game, he was inches from tipping that ball away (it happens)

And on the touchdown he gave up in the Jax game, IMO, and you may think I'm a homer, but I think that it was an offensive offensive interference, yet it was called a defensive pass-interference.

Also on that play, it was a hurry-up offense, which I'm sure the Cowboys didn't scheme against, and he caught Newman off guard a little--but if you look at Newmans play over-all this pre-season, and what the coaches and players have been saying about him in the practices, he's had an outstanding off-season.

I have to admit you make some very good points.

My biggest concern was last year his biggest deficiency was his confidence in my opinion.

I wonder what will happen if he gets beat early for some big plays? His memory of getting beat is what really worries me.

I definitely want to see Newman succeed in a big way.

I agree with your takes except for Bledsoe and am not sure about Pettitti's durability. I still question the pass rush. It seemed to me that Warner,Hassellbeck and Leftwich had plenty time to throw. Carr didn't look so good, but then the 'pretty man' is oh so overrated.

Just out of curiosty, when you say Julius Jones will not be a 1700 yard or 10 TD back are you saying he wont make those numbers or he does not have that kind of ability?

I wish I would have worded things differently in the original post. I am not sure he will make his lofty goals that he has set, but I am pretty sure he will establish himself as an elite back capable of huge numbers.
