Lets just say the owners cave an open their books and we find out that no owner made less than 100 million in profit. Would your stance change, or is this about the principal and the money is irrelevant?

If the owners open the books and we find teams are making close to the 10 mil profit the Packers report I'd have actual empathy for the owners. But the bottom line remains that the Owners need to make a deal much more badly than the players and should take the best offer they were given. It was a net gain and anything gain in a situation where they had near zero leverage would be a good deal.

Yeah, to me the money is important. If the GB Packers made only 10 million dollars last year, then yes, the owners should do what every they can to change the way the NFL is operated. But if that number is in excess of 100 million, why claim that this buisness model is faulty? Why risk losing a season?

Sigh. The owners have said they aren't losing money yet, but the trajectory is for them to lose in a few years. They're just trying to do something about it before they get to where the NBA is now where several teams really are in big trouble.

Anyway... To answer the question, it seems to most people this is more about politics and philosophy than profit and loss.

im just irked that the vendors that rely on these stadiums and are not making as much as the players will have to suffer in some stadiums, hopefully Jerry will use his and that wont be as bad, but some stadiums and the vendors that need it well, i feel sorry for them. Unless i am way off and they arent affected by this.

I agree.

Personally, I'm not pro-owner. I don't care what an owner makes.

But I also don't ever want to see a draft-less, free agent-less NFL in the future. That said I can't support the players.

I realize they "don't really want that" but that's the current argument.

It is way too early in the morning, but it doesn't matter.

Thank you. I hope people will read this and get it.
